Advice please
yesterday i changed my rocker cover gasket and just after i had tightened the last nut i turned round and saw that i had forgot to put the black plastic covers over the front cam , does this really matter ? i haven't started the car yet if they need to go back in will the gasket be ok to use again or not ? empty head me at times couldn't believe it :(
 
They stop oil from being flicked up into the PCV system from the cams... you need to refit them else oil will find its way out through the PCV...

yeah... it will be fine... just clean up and re-apply sealant in the required spots...

hi Tuffty could you give me some advice on sealant please as its leaking already , i used wynns gasket maker the black stuff and its crap not done the job im getting fed up now with this rocker gasket leaking , whats the white stuff in your pics , is it the not setting stuff ? a friend mentioned something about it but can't remember the name of it thanks in advance

I used OE stuff from VAG/TPS... don't recall the 'name' but they have changed it to black stuff iirc..

Bill uses Forch RTV grey sealant these days
