Hello,
Since I got my A4, a year ago, my car seems to struggle with the Lane Assist. Often I would drive on a nice highway, with good, visible lane markings and yet the car suddenly stops seeing the lanes. Usually after a few minutes it works again. I visited the dealer multiple times, they tried to calibrate, checked for errors, run some updates. Still it persists....

Does anybody have simmilar issues? Or do you know what can cause such weird behavior? I thought the problem might be the camera fogging up, but that would cause an error. I also thought that maybe the lanes are not wide enough on some highways, but I think they are all within system limits...

Here is an example:

Is it not following the exit or entry lines?

Sorry, can you specify what does that exactly mean? It just doesn't see any lines - neither the left nor right.

I can only comment on the B8.5 lane assist system but it is quite possible that it is the basis of the one in the B9. I have had my car for 18 months and can confirm that mine does indeed sometimes stop seeing the lines. Often this is because they have fades somewhat but it has also happened where the lines are good. I cannot give you a reason for this but I suspect that it is simply a limitation of the system - nothing is perfect.

Am I seeing to the right broken white lines suggesting a turn off, or lanes for traffic coming in? They seem shorter than lane markings...

I don't think that this matters. Here are a few another examples:

I just can't find any common "issue" - all those roads seem perfect for lane assist to work.

Mine is pretty reliable on the motorway, but will have a tendency to disappear if it thinks you are not putting enough input to the steering wheel.

Make sure the sensor is clear on the windscreen, other than that I expect Audi have some ability to test it?
