S3 power loss - feels like lack of fuel - usually on WOT at around 5500 - 6000 RPM

He's already been told to do that but he continues to do manual test fault finding.

what? I already have done several logs - I also joined VAG COM / VCDS forum myself to see what comes with the VCDS Lite if you pay the $99 registration fee.

if you read my most recent posts my misfire was due to the new coil on cylinder 1 vibrating loose, due to extra cam-chain vibration, due to low oil. but I am pretty sure VCDS would have told me in a log "hey check your oil dip-stick pal, because the coil vibrated loose" also Alex's Link doesn't work in the Forum IFrame in the "edge browser" I use.

Thanks for your help though.

What does come with the lite when you registered it?
But wouldn't you need the full version to do logs?

Haven't asked the question yet - I did wash the car though yesterday. when I joined the Forum - you need to wait for a couple of days to get your account verified. once I get around to it I will update here - the Unregistered Lite version is pretty limited - I don't want to pay $99 then find out I cannot log the bits I need powertrain wise and set up the "can" <-- I think for the Symphony 2 - and then have to pay for the cable version in the end.

I also need to spend some time looking at that Visual Studio free logging app "VisualME7Logger" - just no time at the moment.

According to the charts on VCDS

http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCDSLiteReg.html <-- you can use the $99 as a credit for full version.

----
Limitations of VCDS-Lite compared to VCDS even if Fully Registered:
No Generic OBD-II
Won't work with CAN-Bus vehicles
Fewer fault code definitions and label files <-- these are all lookupable
No built-in Activation (you'll be limited to a single PC) <-- says you need to copy the licence key from one pc to the next
No Advanced Measuring Blocks <-- don't know what this includes?
No Acceleration Measurement

it looks like it should work if you pay the $99 for measuring blocks?

my mistake I only scrolled down as far as the map, I see the forum threads are below that, I assumed it hooked into http://forums.ross-tech.com or something similar.

Thanks

Just wandering if you got to the bottom of these misfires yet Stuart?

the original problem was resolved by replacing the spark plugs (only cylinder 1 needed replacing), I had another misfire when the coil pack had managed rise out the hole ( I blamed on low oil vibrating the cam-chain)

It was then okay for a while but since changing the ECU for an apparent stage 2 - it is only running okay with a 3.5 bar FPR - I have bought a 3.0 bar FPR to retry with that.

To be honest I don't trust the use of copper BKR7E (re-gapped to 0.7mm) - I reckon they are more trouble than they are worth (only last for a couple of thousand miles) - maybe the iridium versions are better but for £30 I may as well get the ones recommended by the manufacturer.
