Evening guys,
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the coming/leaving home feature on an audi S3 8P3 59 plate? Ive seen a few on youtube that when you unlock the car the drl's and the fog lights come on and same when you lock it they stay on for a certain amount of time.. Is it possible to code this in?
Thanks in advance

Think its only possible if you have the auto-lights?

I'm sure someone will be along to confirm.

In a car properly set up you have a light sensor in the rear view mirror - if you don't have this you can do it by putting a short in the wiring to simulate the light sensor saying its dark, with that and some vcds coding you can make it work - but as I say it will operate whether its dark outside or not.

Details are here http://audiretrofit.quinlivan.net/cominghomelights

This is for the Pre-Face lift, I did this trick on my old car.

Un-sure if it works on Facelift as its all different.

I have an A3, MY09 - I have auto-lights and a little button under the light switch where I can activate/deactivate the coming home lights. Using Carista OBD-II I've been able to activate the Leaving Home feature too. TBH I don't really use either...

I looked in the computer and when i go onto lights the only thing i can change is the amount of times the indicator flashes, can anyone point me in the direction of someone that might be able to do this for me?

Facelift cars dont like this, only 100% success would be the full retrofit of which we've had 100% success rate :)

Mine is 59 plate with out auto lights but managed to turn on coming lights with Carista, if I can remember you can select which light you require to be turned on fog or dipped beam.

I want to figure out if it's possible for the lights to come on when you lock and unlock the car like the Pre-Facelift.

I have just been told this can be done on Facelift without autolights.

Trying to gather more info.

I originally had the vcds coding tweak for the coming home lights on my 59 plate my10 S3. As has been said you have to flash the lights for the coming home to work and the leaving lights never worked.
I have however since completed the full auto lights/wipers retrofit and have full coming home and leaving lights working with the fogs enabled.
It's by far the best retrofit I've done, mainly for the light and wipers, the rest is just a bonus.
It's not the simplest or cheapest retrofit but well worth it.

I can write a program using a micro controller and make a custom harness to enable any light. It's cheaper than retofit but obviously custom job.

I don't have to flash the lights to switch the CH/LH lights to work, they always work when light switch set to auto. Can be enabled in DIS.

How much did it cost in the end?

That's because yours has the auto lights already installed?

£160 for the screen
£40 for the switch...ebay (although you can apparently use the original facelift one)
£40 for the loom....kufatec
£100ish for the mirror and sensor etc.....eBay

Then it was just my time fitting and coding it all

Sorry pal, as I said before it was a while ago now and can't remember the process.
I'm sure the kufatec cable came with fitting info though
