good day all

i published earlier reference an inline fuel pump and meth kit but thought id introduce myself and car swell.

Well i recently purchased my first audi after years of vw and jap and have to say what a motor, its a pre facelift s3, i did have plans to slowly modify and enjoy the car but as of late things seem to have hit a slippery slope.

I started of buying simple things such as new silicone hoses and replacing a stupid dump valve that was fitted to the car for a forge 008 recirc valve, this seemed to help the car a lot more and seemed to run smoother also finding fitting the badger 5 TIP gave it a fantastic feel.
Next on my list was a servicing and cam belt change due to no information about the car when i purchased it luckily this was a good idea due to the cam belt taking a few days to change as in the 104k of life the car had this was by the looks of it the first time it had been done.

Unfortunately due to my job i work abroad so with been in touch with my local audi friendly garage i have sourced a few parts to be fitted when i get home at the end of the month which i will label below :

BC coilers
eagle f1 tyres - as the current tyres have a huge stretch on them, not good for corners
full non res milltek exhaust
3 inch relentless down pipe
relentless manifold
wagner intercooler
inline fuel pump
630cc injectors
aet 380 turbo

She will be in the garage for a few days when I'm home having the engine out to fit a lot of these mods which will include replacing the clutch as well but not sure as to which one to get as it makes sense to do it at the same time.

It will also be getting a custom map due to the mods been done and also the current stage 1 it has on it is as about as useful as a wet fart, totally horrific.

Well thats my current situation with my new car
any advice or tips would be highly appreciated

cheers

good day thought id carry this on and add a bit of a build thread of what I'm purchasing and what work is to come up.

Im currently going through the stage of a stage 3 custom map and supporting mods, well when i say currently its due in the garage on the 3rd of october for all this to be carried out.
Yesterday was a good day as the turbo arrived at the garage which is the AET380, so that is ready along with the 3 inch down pipe and also the pro 4 manifold, i have decided that as the engine is coming out as its easy for these items to be fitted that id also replace the clutch at the same time instead of having to remove the engine again, so after much searching on the good old google i finally chose the sach performance clutch with the 6 paddle friction plate, what are peoples views on this as this is still sat in the basket ready to purchase this evening, i understand that this will probably be a nightmare in traffic due to been very grabby but i assumed that most upgraded plates would be, any advice welcome.
Also had a phone call on wednesday saying that my new intercooler and coilovers had been delivered, i decided with the intercooler to go for the Wagner as it seems a sturdy and good bit of kit, i originally looked at the airtech system but not seeing many views on this thought id put a little bit more cash in and go bigger (probably will regret not going forge).
As for my coilers a lot of thought went into these with there been so many on the market, i have a friend who has just changed his springs, his car does sit well but isn't the best at performance with the oem struts on, so that was that idea gone, i finally decided to go for the BC br series coilover : type RN, so I'm hoping this will give the car a solid stance and the handling that she deserves.

well thats it for now still a few more parts to be delivered over the weekend and more supporting mods to be purchased to coincide with the stage 3.

have a good day people

cheers

Sounds good that would be my hybrid turbo choice aswell but I'd lose the pro 4 manifold it will only crack or are you reinforcing the welds?

Second that, save your self the ball ache of the absolute nightmare that is the Pro4. Sack it off.

Buy a chinafold from here.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Exh..._4&btsid=9f79916f-a20c-4ac3-984a-68a4ba560a84

Works out £200 delivered to the Uk including customs charges.
Send it to JNL Racing for port matching to your turbo.
Chinafold is fit and forget.
Trust me, look at my thread.

Otherwise sounds like a nice spec! You fitting rods? Its going to need them.

i think will certainly take tat on board about the manifold and look at better options then as i have a few weeks before it goes in, do they do any already proved manifolds or is it a case of you have to send them away, i do i have got some 20mm drilled IE rods to be fitted in there as part of the supporting package

cheers

evening gents

Well the delivery guy arrived again today, think we are on first name terms now he has been that much managed to have my non res miltek exhaust delivered so have the joys of fitting that when i get home along with a cat bypass then can proceed with the engine out for the rest of the mods, I'm going to try and get pics of the work thats been done as it goes through its transformation.

This was from the joys of the previous owners, thought i would have the cam belt changed as there was no supporting evidence to say this had been done AT ALL and much to our joy and yes as you can see in the picture that is a welder the cam belt had never been done.
We believe that in the 104k of life the car has done it was pretty evident this had never and i mean never been changed, the car was stuck on the ramp for 2 days welding bolts onto bolts and a lot of head scratching going on but it was prevailed and the ****** thing finally came of, to say the least it was lucky i went for the option of doing it as i can't have seen it lasting much longer.
But I'm happy to say its a mind at ease job knowing that i have now got brand new stuff going on there and don't have the panic of will my engine go bang.
excuse the bird **** as well the only bird to fly into the garage drop a quick **** on my panel then never to be seen again, even that thing new what a nightmare of a job it was.

cheers

Would've been easier whilst you have your engine out though.

Very true it would have been so much easier but unfortunately I was unaware the engine was going to be coming out, I had intended on doing a couple of jobs and enjoying the car but it's hit a downward slippery slope and It's getting lots of mods and engine out now

well the build has finally started now i am home and delivered to the garage but before that i took advantage of fitting my new coilovers and tyres, i must admit what a dramatic difference it makes to the car, think my major problem was as when i took the original struts off it became apparent that there was no rebound on them at all, which obviously did not help the performance.
I've added a few pictures to show what they are like on the car and compartment to my oem ones.

Big differences! What's model your new components? Thank you.

You're right dude, I'm sorry (I lost that info because I'm a bit discouraged yet when I read a long english post, because I need use dictionary a lot usually, but I'll work on this sure). Sorry again.

About "BC br series", I never heard it in Italy, do you use this one aswell? In general most part of people use Bilstein here, and some others use KW.

Well the last couple of days the work had begun on the motor and it's such a sorry state to see a car in this way but it's going to be worth it, engine is now out and block stripped down, the garage thought they would have a good check around at the same time and it's amazing at how many pipes had gone and need replacing, I thought I'd done this my self but it's obviously pretty hard to see with everything in position, everything seems pretty good so now the new build can start, first thing to go in is the cam rods but awaiting new bearings for them then they can be fitted in there, then it's onward form here

Well another fun today as my exhaust system arrived and I can't wait for it to be fitted once the engine is dressed back up and put back into my car.
It is running a pro v4 manifold, 3 inch relentless down pipe to a decat pipe and into a non res miltek system so hopefully should produce some pretty nice sounds.
I understand I got wanted away from the pro v4 manifold but with little time to get one dispatched and as to when the work was been done then I'm having to stick with it just going to sit back on the power and not push it to its extremities and cause it to crack.

Picture of my new system

good day all

well today seems to have been a good day with the engine basically been put back together its got its new clutch on there, turbo, manifold, i.e. rod ends fitted, so now its time for them to lift her up and get her in.
Only a couple of jobs to go once its back in really, got the bosch 044 inline fuel pump to be fitted, WMI kit is in place just needs fitting correctly, had to go for the option of fitting in the boot as didn't seem to be enough room in the bay or under the arches as we had previously discussed.
One of the main things after getting the head back on is sourcing a new ECU for the car so he run the wideband lambada to it then we can get the bosch 630cc injectors in there and start the mapping and adjusting the fuel as the previous map it had didn't have a very good one and she ran very rich.

I've attached a few pictures to show what the engine is currently like and in my eyes in a much happier place than when i last seen it.

oh and the intercooler is on now, i went for the wagner intercooler as seemed pretty much the same as the forge one just a little bit cheaper, came with a lovely snug fit and very easy to fit.
There was no chopping of the crash bar or fog lights removed (although they already where from the previous cooler) it was a simple drill two holes in the top of the crash bar and screw the bolts down into it, there was also a couple of screws underneath with a bracket to be attached on the underside.
Only main thing that had to be done was the relocation of the horn which is very straight forward, i sprayed the main bracket the horn was attached to black aswell as the intercooler and pipework are all black so will look pretty stealthy.
Sorry not the greatest pics but the cardboard is left on due to the work that is still going on

Wagner is arguably better than the Forge one as its a larger surface area

<tuffty/>

ah perfect, i did try to look it up and see the differences, seen a few posts so glad i went for the right choice.

yeah unfortunately, id already jumped the gun and purchased it and was to close to the time of it going in the garage to get a different one, so plan is to run it to a suitable power that the manifold can hold for 6 - 8 months and enjoy the car, then have currently been doing another shopping list ready for next year to do a big build on her and try and produce something special lol

you'l regret fitting this into the bay, it's a proper headache to swap in situe. Do it now, while access is easy

i don't mind at the minute ill enjoy it with the power i can produce from the manifold then the engine will be out again next year for upcoming projects

Well today has been a good day the engine is back in and buttoned up to an extent a lot of decluttering has been Carrie four as well so no more annoying pipes and cables dotted around, it's the final push to getting her ready.
Still got a bit of work to go though, WMI kit to be fitted, exhaust to be mounted and finding a way of fitting the two sections together as milltek seem to be different to all other pipes.
Also still trying to find a new ECU for the car due to it been changed to wideband which still means I need some new wiring fitting to the car along with the new injectors.
Then the fun will begin of the custom map to see where she can go from there.
Hopefully a few weeks it will be all done then its off to another grave to have bodywork issues sorted so hopefully I'll get to drive her this year

Well that's it is cat is basically done, the new ECU is in along with the injectors so it's time to have the WMI wiring finished then it's time to get the boost wound up and see what she will produce.
Exciting times ahead as I have not drove her in a month so will be nice to see what she does.
Although I wondered where people get the water/meth from as in do you get pre mix or straight stuff and where is best to get it please.

nice work!!! best thing - engine looks stock as a rock!

Well that's the WMI fully fitted and wired in so the mapping all started today well it was supposed to but due to all the new components the very little ones that are old decided to play up so had to get a new coolant temp sensor as that was first to go.
Just when we thought that was all good one of the coil packs has a funny internal resistance which is throwing a wobbly with the new ECU, so most likely looking at a new coil pack of that can't be solved but that is in the garages hands as they are a hell of a lot more experienced than I am lol.
So if all goes well I should have my car back late Friday or Saturday morning to go out and enjoy a few long drives and end up some random places.
Couple of pics of the WMI kit in the car not the best quality pics but just shows where they are
