18042/P1634/005684 - Accelerator Position Sensor 2 (G185): Signal too High
Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Reduced Engine Output
Possible Causes
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty
  • Sensor (G185) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Have a look at the Pedal Position Sensor assembly, not the Throttle Body.
  • Check all connections between ECU and accelerator pedal - of course the pedal itself could be defective too.
Special Notes
  • There are 2 sensors in the accelerator pedal, both measure the same except that they are working in opposite directions. This means one counts from 0 to 100, while the other one counts from 100 to 0.
  • Accelerator Position Sensor faults can be caused by issues with the Oxygen Sensor(s) and it's wiring. Please verify thisBEFORE replacing the ECM or Accelerator Pedal. Accelerator Pedal failure is very rare.

18039/P1631 - Accelerator Position Sensor (G79): Signal too High
Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Reduced Engine Output
Possible Causes
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty
  • Faulty ECM
  • Faulty Accelerator Pedal
Possible Solutions
  • Check Measuring Block Readings for Accelerator Pedal
  • Check Voltage Signals from ECM to Throttle Pedal (see factory repair manual)
  • Check Wiring and Connectors from ECM to Accelerator Pedal

sorry guys i was busy with car i bought new acceleration pedal car still same no rev still givin code p1631 p1634.. total i have 3 acceleration pedal and 3 throttle body i dont think all faulty.
sometime ondash show traction control warning light...
all the wiring has been check fuse relay all check
ecu plug cleaned.

thanks jeriho car is 1.8t aum engine.. when i connect diagnostic machine and choose 1.8t aum engine machine said no communication ok
if i choose 2.0 fsi axw engine diagnostic machine read fine i can get codes.
before i buy this car old owner said to me car been remap.
i think when they remap this car they put 2.0 fsi sofware or folder.

now i take ecu out. do u think all this cause of ecu.. if you think is possible i will send ecu to a test centre for check it out. or do u know any one do this ecu check i can send it there. thanks for your help.

look like one more a3 8l down.

Has the throttle body been re-aligned after being removed?
