Hi all,

Decided on buying the RS3 instead of the S3 V8.

Just looking around for winter tyres now...more specific wheels.

Do the brakes clear 7,5j 18" ET54???

Thanks in advance.

Why not just use the STD 8J x 19-inch ET50 rims with 235/35 winter tyres front and rear, they sure do work for me and BLUEY and have done for the past 5-years:

Winter wheels and tyres 1 Winter wheels and tyres 2

Oh, and a 100% excellent choice on the 8P Audi RS3, you're not the first to make such a wise decision

Just sayin'
:superman:

Love them legs...

And Arkius has a set for sale, though he should really keep 'em and fit a set of winter tyres himself, however, see the For Sale section and the listing: Genuine RS3 wheels with as new tyres - still on page #1. Arkius is MAD to sell 'em and yo'd be MAD not to buy 'em as when fitted with 235/35 winter tyres they fit the wheel arches just nicely, unlike an 18-inch 7.5J would to be sure...

BLUEY on 235/35 winter rubber heading for a snow covered Snowdon in February 2013:

Thanks for the comments guys, the only reason i mentioned those wheels was cause i was able to get a set for 350 Euro...in combination with the cheaper 18" winter tyres it looked interesting.

Maybe i should just go and place winter tyres on the 19" rims, wintercontact TS850 a good choice?

Arkious atm not looking for another set of those, but good look selling.

No bother :)

I don't know much about winter tyres to be honest as I have always just gone for wet weather tyres instead.

I'm on Vredestein Wintrac Xtream on both my RS3 and TT, however, just put a set of TOYO Snowproc (18-inch) on my A1 (twin-charge) Black Edition and would strongly recommend them - tried them in the wet already while having the summer rims refurbished but now stacked awaiting the chilly ambients so expect them to be on next month:

And Winternacht, the reason you should purchase them STD wheels from Arkious is the same reason he should not be selling 'em as they'll make a perfect source of a spare if the need arises and for sure they'll always be saleable if and when you move on from the Audi RS3.

And Jay, it's ALL of them little sipes across the tread-blocks that make a 'winter' tyre perform both in forward traction and most of all in braking; there's not a single tyre manufacturer who'd recommend the use of a summer tyre when the ambients fall below 7ºC; and that's where you guys going on your early drives to work are now.

its been 4'C here all morning haha! Yeah I know what you mean about the wheels and I would honestly love to keep them but I don't have the space for them :(

I know, I know, I/we've been there and it's easy for us to say and you're right in what you're doing and have a FABULOUS Audi RS3 to show for it; I was just a sayin... :superman: Enjoy...
