First post here, so I hope that I've put this in the correct place. Looking for some advice on an issue I have with my 10 plate A3.
Over the past 4 months, sometimes the car won't start. dash lights up and the engine turns over but sometimes it just won't start up. Leaving it for 10 mins and then trying again starts it and it works fine for a period.
About a month ago it happened whilst driving. Managed to get pushed to the side of the road, waited 5 minutes and it started. No fault codes or lights are displayed and the radio / electrics start as normal.
I took it to my normal local Indy. The mechanic there had it for a week. He drove it to and from home without an issue everyday and plugged it into their computers but said it never threw any codes or indication of what's causing the problem. I collected it this Saturday.
On the way back from work whilst starting off from idle at lights, it stuttered and cut out. All electrics and radios continued but turning the key wouldn't start the engine. A Good Samaritan got out of his van to push, but when I turned the key it started. I managed to get home.
I'm completely at a loss as what to do here as mech said he couldn't spot any issues with it and didn't want to guess at the problem. I wondered if anyone could give me some advice.
