Hi all just looking for a bit of advice.. Has anyone had a custom made turbo back exhaust on there audi s3 8p3?? I know miltek and BCS are recommended highly but surely theres gotta be a cheaper option? There must be a company who can custom make you one surely? Its only pipe right? Ive also looked at just changing the downpipe but i really dont want it to sound like a tractor especially as ive already had the middle box taken out and it already pretty loud, any feedback please let me know

There are always cheaper options and there are plenty of companies that will make you an exhaust system . However whether it would be significantly cheaper or any better sound/ quality than a Milltek or BCS system it's hard to say. The big advantage with getting a Milltek or any other name brand is that if you have heard it on another car and you like it, then fit that exhaust to your car and it will pretty much sound the same.
An exhaust is not just pipes, there are silencers and resonators and it's these that really give the exhaust it's sound.
Where abouts are you in the country maybe somebody could recommend some where.

Im in the west midlands mate but i dont mind travelling for the right company. I want a sports cat if possible, dont mind it loud when your giving it the beans but its nice to have a bit of quietness wen your driving around normally or on the motorway

If you want it quiet on the motorway but loud when you are giving it the beans then BCS powervalve is your answer.
Do you want the exhaust for power or noise?
if it is power that you are looking for then a downpipe with a sports cat will do. If it is noise then catback is fine. Be aware that any change to the downpipe and cats will probably put a light on the dash unless it is mapped out.
My son had a non resonated Milltek cat back on his Golf 7 R. It sounded very aggressive when in sport mode but was tiresome on the motorway. It has just been removed and he much prefers the smoothness. I have an APR downpipe on my S3 at stage 2+. IT does not sound like a tractor, just a bit deeper and no drone on the motorway.

EMP performance custom make lots of systems, they can also make use of the same technology as BCS with the butterfly valve in the exhaust to give you that loud sound only when you want it.

Not sure on how much cheaper or not they would be though give them a call and see what they can do.

Alternatively wait till around Christmas time where BCS normally have sales or group buys running and the systems can be had for a lot cheaper than the original price.

For power tbh mate. I want to go stage 2+ at some point and this is the thing thats stopping me. You got a video of yours? What sort of price did you pay?

As I was already at APR stage 1+ it seemed the sensible option to go with the APR downpipe. This made the upgraded software to stage 2+ free of cost, saving £120.00. The downpipe is cast and not welded tubing and so it is a nice piece of kit. However, the price has gone up over £100 since I bought mine earlier this year which makes it too expensive. You can find it on the Awesome site and then have a heart attack!. You can get a BCS or Milltek downpipe with Sports cat at a much more affordable price. Some people do not get a light on with the bcs.
Interestingly, on the APR site relating to the TTE420 turbo, it says that you do not need a full TBE and only a downpipe is required.

As a few people have already said, buying cheaper parts can be a false economy, and whilst APR and BCS aren't cheap, they do both make very good quality components, and you can rely on the service as well.

My feeling now would be that I'd choose BCS over Milltek(I had a Milltek on my car until recently) as the quality of the work BCS have done for me is superb.
This was what they built for me....

You wouldn't need something like for Stg2+,but as an example of what they can do,it's excellent, and with prt57's pics, gives you an idea of what's out there, and which the quality offerings are....

Not a good clip but I have a 3" turbo back which is resonated by a company called pipewerx ,nice and quiet on. Normal driving and sounds lovely when in the higher rev range , mines on a 6 speed manual stage1 at the moment but got everything I need for 2+ now so the sound may change slightly when mapped again

I actually bought off a guy in leeds , he put a miltek on his as he. Became a Milteck retailer which is only reason he changed but I'm sure he paid around £1k for it 3" Turbo back , I have £650 and it was around 7-8 month old , best investment I've made on the car

Ive been offered the same with sports cat for £650 but theres a couple things tht need sorting on it, il send you the link tell me what you think if you can

Not too bad , easy fixes n the dent in tail pipe won't be seen, although you can get replacements If it bothers you ,

What would you pay for it? If it was mint id say £650 but those couple of things surely dont make it worth that sort of money?

If it was mint it would be worth more. £650 isn't a bad price for a full Milltek system complete with sports cat, even with a small ding on the tail pipe (one wonders how that ding got there mind) and a missing bolt and clamp. Hell he's even throwing in a powerflex insert. Compared to new it's near enough half price. But like all things it's only worth what someone is willing to pay so perhaps instead of fishing for low ball numbers here your time would be better spent making an offer to the seller directly and move on from there.
