Hi There,

I have a Scirocco R (i know this is an Audi forum but theres not alot on the Scirocco Forums about tuning) and i'm currently running just over 360bhp with 366LBF im now looking into a new turbo for more power, After a bit of research i have found the engines on stock internals can handle 450bhp (Crank) and about 450lbf.

My question is, I've been looking at the TTE420 but feel if i want to tune more id then have to change the Turbo so i'm thinking GT3076 and sit it around the 420-440bhp mark and keep the LBF down due to stock internals at this moment in time.

What power do the Stock Injectors Max out at, also what power does the LPFP max out at.

So i know i need a FMIC, Turbo with manifold it whether i need to change the LFPF and Injectors. Also i another thing is, is the evoms up to the jobs of 450bhp i dont see why not.

My Current Spec is

Full BCS system Turbo back
Autotech HPFP
Evoms Intake
probs little bits and bobs.

Any advice is welcome.

Have you seen the TTE480 is out now as well.

Hi and welcome.

Ok....here's my few pennies worth.

The advice re crank and internals is correct, they are good for around 450lbs on a daily use basis.

Both the TTE420 and 480 would be very unlikely to exceed those torque ratings,so should be safe to use,and the 480 would be my choice for a hybrid right now.

The problem you'll have with a GTX3076 or similar is going to be torque, but you can reduce boost to deal with that, although then response is an issue.

Stock injectors will max out at a bit over 400bhp,and the stock fuel pump at around 420-440bhp.

The best LPFP replacement would be an RS pump, but you need to map the PWM controller for it properly or it may overheat.
The RS3 injectors are the current choice for this engine over the 420bhp+ mark, and Rick @ Unicorn would be the man to approach for your mapping needs for both those issues.

The Evoms intake should be OK.

Have a trawl through my build thread here if you can bear it.....there may be some useful bits in there....

Also consider a Quaife or similar diff as you will have problems getting all the torque to the ground via an open diff.

S3 Alex,

Cheers Pal, iv seen alot of your name when reading about big upgrades :) so was hoping for your input lol, P.S good job on the S3. My mate runs a Gt30 on his Type R and his spool is at about 1500 RPM, The response/Lag is my only concern with the GT30, i was only going to run low boost. My other friends running 560 with 440lbf and that torque is more than enough in his fwd A3.

That's pretty good for a GT30 to be honest.

Mine wasn't really interested below 2500rpm,and the current 3582 doesn't get going below 4000rpm.

Torque obviously is the major factor, and also how smoothly that's delivered.
Rick would be a good place to start, but also drop @TTE Si a line, and also speak to maybe Scott at Owen Developments(although they will go quite conservative on turbo ratings),and Andy at Storm.

I went to the GTI meet at Santa Pod a couple of weeks ago. There was a Golf6R running a TTE 420. I cannot remember the BHP and ftlbs but it was running using the Evoms intake. There was a list of next jobs to do and the first was to replace the Evoms with a Revo. The person was not around to ask why but there must have been a reason.
