Carista App

I didn't remember if that was available. I had to go abroad, so, don't have my car to checj it. You can set the fog lights to come on on turning (just steering) but I thought it would actualy be a bit anoying.

I done this, and it's actually quite a nice touch to be honest.
There is nothing really to be annoyed about it, other than when people say, '' them audis bulbs are not very good are they? My hyundai fog lights both work, and then you hit back with, there cornering lights, there supposed to do that, your hyundai is made by people who eat dogs, what do they know about cars...

Hi
I have just used the dongle after the update and have now noticed a few items missing
1- Ding warning when lights are on and door open
2- handbrake release without pushing brake pedal
3- smart key works with ignition on
I'm sure more are missing

Looking at getting a OBD2 unit to check faults but also fiddle with some customisation, not really keen on paying £27 a year for the Carista subscription. What can people roccommend?

TIA

Has anyone used this on a B8 2008?

On the website it has the A4 B8 from 2009 -2015 but A4 pre 2009 looks like it's for a B7 and does a lot less than the 2009 -2015 model.

If anyone has used it on a 2008 did you get all the features.

Thanks

A friend of mine has a 57 plate mk2 TT and I used carista and my dongle on his and there was loads of things to customise on his so dont see why it shouldn't have a fair bit for yours

It does work! Not all the features as some features only became available in later cars!

I noticed that when I went to check which version I currently have, and it does seem to cover more than the previous version (in my case for wife's 6C Polo), but, I'm sure that some people, on other forums are quoting testing Beta 3.3, which confused me if 3.3 Beta testing was running before 3.2 was issued for use?

I have v3.3 beta 3 installed, used it on the car and made a few changes. Very impressed with it.

Yip 3.3 good
I like the way you can turn the drls up or down when the main lights are on
Standard is 9%
I've set mine to 90 %
Makes a big difference at night
Lots of other new changes as well certainly worth getting Carista even if you only use it once or twice

@Shocker , It is the first time I have used Carista as only just got the car, I did notice the drls were set to 9%, so went out and changed it but couldnt notice a difference after changing it to 25%, so may need to do it a bit further, will try that again tonight. I also set the beep on the alarm, the needle sweep and corner lights coming on too, very impressed with it.

I did make some changes on the Wifes Seat Leon too, more or less the same things, she already had alot setup on it though, so just did the beep and needle sweep on hers.

How often do the beta updates get released?

The beta releases are sometimes once every two months , but lately I've had a few updates every week
Most work a few don't , just depends if your car has the modules

@Shocker Im sure another release has come out this week, I have just updated mine today but it does still say 3.3, so not too sure what happened there.

Yea been 3.3 for while but you have to look at end number after all the zeros I think the latest beta is 3.300005 which I got on Monday night

Mine only says 3.3 on it now after the update, im sure it said beta before the update though.

I cant find the option to change DRL brightness on the new release? I'm B8, is it a B8.5 only thing?

Ok cancel above, appears I was on 3.2 not 3.3. Back outside I go

Hi

If I used this app to make any changes to my S4, bleep on lock and cornering fog lights for example would this affect my Audi warranty?
Just wondered if they'd be able to do a diagnostic check and find out that some changes had been made outside of a main dealer?

Thanks

No you will be fine, all the features are there to be switched on, you are not technically altering anything plus you can switch back if needed or not happy etc.
Fret not

Will this app let me retract the calipers to complete a brake pad and disc change? or is that still a job for the VCDS??

Today's a great day. Checked my version of Carista on my iPad, and it confirmed 3.3 and boasted the added new feature of Auto Stop/Start Disable.

That has made me a very happy man. :)

Are you reading this, @Bristle Hound and @scotty76?

Now if they could just find a way to stuff a sock in the gob of the door open warning beep, I could die a happy man.

My dongle arrived today, I bought the Carista one.
Stupidly simple to use, don't even need to connect from your phone as it does so automatically.
What a great App, wish it downloaded its info a bit quicker but other than that a great purchase.
Thanks for the info.

It is a cracking little device to have.
I too ordered the genuine carista dongle after a few frustrating fleebay cheap examples that worked for others, but not for me.
After Spitting my dummy out, I went for the genuine article and works a treat.
It is so handy to have and use, just leave mine in the arm rest and have a play every few months, plus handy to help mates out.
It is definitely worth the money imo even if I was not fortunate enough to have hit lucky with a £3 dongle which I never Lol.
I paid £15 for the app I think over a year ago for the paid version and still going strong, think I paid £30 for the dongle, so £45 is not bad at all

I normally try the bargain route on things like this but got the idea it was a bit of a lucky dip scenario so went for the Carista one like yourself, sometimes it's just not worth the hassle. Well done to all who managed the cheaper route.
It's now £34 for a year after my months trial, not sure I'll get much usage out of it after the novelty has worn off, depends whether they keep adding more features.

My brother in law has an old A6 (2006) can Carista unlock the sat Nav disc drive or is this only a VCDS thing?

Contact Carista app through their Facebook page and ask directly they are pretty good at getting back quickly
