I take it from this discussion that the B8.5 lights fit the B8 but depending on what pre facelift lights you have it depends on what connector and coding you need?

Since seeing the new LED lights I am liking those over the ones Ive got so thinking this is going to be one of my first mods!

Hi you have got to do coding regardless because the brake lights and headlight now run on separate wires and the connectors will be different too, pretty sure for the avant you can wiring loom from someone on the forums but Dnt think they from the uk but it's not too hard to do your own wiring just do the coding 1st the get a mate to go through the lights while you test what wire does what

If you own a pre-facelift save yourself the hassle and money and just go for pre-facelift LEDs. Plug and play with small amount of adaptation coding.

The facelift LED light units are physically a different size so don't fit in the pre-facelift boot lid. So means you have to buy a facelift boot lid and even then the fit won't be 100% unless you buy the facelift rear bumper as there is a small gap at the bottom of the outer headlight units. The facelift LED units also need additional wires running from the central convenience module as they are a more complicated wiring setup.

Don't get me wrong, the facelift LEDs are a better unit as every bulb is LED in comparison to the pre-facelift which only have the tail/brake lights as LEDs but factoring the cost of a new boot lid, rear bumper, getting them painted then buying the cabling and connectors means its just not worth it. May as well put that money into your next car.

The pre-facelift units fit perfectly and don't require any additional wires running from Central Conv.

After selling my old stuff my back end cost me just under £400 to me was worth spending that

Well done. Feel free to post up info on wiring and any other advice you may have for others trying the same retrofit.

No worries as I said in walker posts it's all down to coding but any one who wants help is welcome to mail me as ppl on have done so already and I'm happy to help.

There is more to retrofitting facelift LEDs to a pre-facelift car than just coding. Extra wires need runing from module 46. Or did you fit facelift LED to a facelift car?

No I fitted led face lift lights to a pre face lift car, it's an se. When I done the conversion I found it was important to change the coding 1st as then I knew what wire did what and then I added the extra wires in as it makes sense so you know what lights are doing what function. That's how I did mine any ways was done beginning of the year have had no errors or problems at all.

I made my own. What car have you got? I may be able to help you make your own if you're good with a bit of diy. There are various options regarding how much you might end up spending (if you get Audi connectors and terminals etc.) but you could do it for as little as £10-£15
Hi rs5uk
Was looking to know if you still have the link to download for coding and wiring as I have done the conversion but need coding and wiring please

Thanks

Hello
I need your help.
I retrofit rear tail led lights with kufatec wires, and already tried several coding, but never work like it does.
When i turn the lights on i see the neon on and the brake lights on too. When i brake increase the neon lights...every other lights work fine.
Can you help me with the coding for the brake and lights on?
Thanks

If you would not mind pm me the coding you have on yours, the forum member above has kindly sent me the coding info but it would be helpful to see it it matches what you have on working units.

Also would be very interested in this also if you have any info on how it's done. I am using genuine oem b8.5 units.
