I've had the car over two years now. Was selling it but so many time wasters vs Stealers offering pennies i have decided to keep the Cab soooo....

One thing i have never liked is the feel when going over bumps in the road. It goes right through me every time. Bone shaking! :)

I don't want to spend massive but what are the options? I don't need to drop it to the floor as Cardiff has more speed bumps than anywhere else i've ever been and the roads are like when the Romans came to invade.

At 100k the originals will be very tired. Personally, I would go for Bilstein B4s. German quality shock absorber for non-lowered cars. There are UK stockists who can supply a whole kit of 4 for good prices.

Cheers for the info. Euro Performance are coming in at about £100 per shock on these. Then there is labour i guess. Not cheap but not over the top either i guess.

Have a look at Sachs Super Touring on www.carparts4less.co.uk. Sachs is the OE supplier for many German cars. I’ve used them on my BMW Z3 (along with many other owners) and they are great and identical to the OE. I would avoid cheap, budget shock absorbers as they can be terrible. My Audi has OE Sachs shock absorbers.

Many internet “UK sellers” of German suspension parts are not actually UK stockists but create the impression on their websites that they are the UK’s best. The result is that you have to wait for stuff to be shipped over from Germany and seller’s prices are not necessarily the best.

Here’s a link to a set (for my car) which were competitively priced – the seller claiming to be a large stockist. I appreciate yours will be different and may cost a little more. A firm called Demon Tweaks are also well known and provide decent service.

I looked at Deamon Tweaks as they have been around for years and have a decent rep.

Forgive my lack of knowledge but is it just the dampers I need or do people also change the springs around them at same time?

If you are happy with the existing ride height – it sounded as if you were, I would say that there is no need to change the springs if they are undamaged and still have most of their coating. Many on this forum changing their springs are doing so to lower their car and they buy matched lowering springs and shock absorbers.

Cheers for all the info chaps.
I'm second owner from new and the person before me didn't touch it.

The ride is quite harsh on this S line B7 Cab and it's on standard alloys, so I want to make the ride less harsh as for me it's too firm on local roads.

S-line b7 especially cabs are extremely harsh. Like driving a tank. Mines the same but live with it. Maybe at one pint I may do something with it. But for now my Spine is in one piece lol
