Whether you can say it or not there's no denying it's a pretty insane motor lol

......although surprisingly with that engine and price tag only a hairs breath quicker than a TTRS .......on paper at least ;)

I would like to buy another A3 nut Audi are making life very difficult. I have a 184 TDI s-tronic quattro at the moment and would like to buy either the same again or a 190 TFSI but it seems impossible to test drive 190 at the moment. I have all the dealers any where near me and none of them seem to have access to one. I have now written to Audi UK asking how they intend to solve this problem. It seems if you want a normal run of the mill A3 then dealers can provide test cars but look for something better and they have nothing.

Just picked up an A4 1.4 dsg as a courtesy car after the first 100 yards I was already missing the extra power...Going from an S3 to an A5 2.0 must feel very similar to what I experienced today...lol
It's in my mind every time I get to boot the S3! That and the not having quattro!!! Just been looking at the TT quattro again lol :D

I can just imagine, sitting in his slushbox auto, thinking he just needs to give it gas. Some people need put in their place every now and again. Good work!
lol it's childish I know, but the S3 brings out the child in all of us from time to time! Bet he thought "I'm not having an A3 passing me"...then saw the 4 pipes and realised it wasn't a normal A3 :p

I get that in the S5 too. The uneducated non-Audi drivers don't notice the silver mirrors against the white car, the badges front and rear, the discreet boot lip spoiler etc.
They certainly hear the supercharged V6 blasting out the 4 exhausts as I disappear into the sunset ha ha!
Always preferred discreet performance cars and the S3 should fit that bill too when it arrives.

Coventry have a 2.0tfsi Sportback think its a Quattro, Nottingham are similar.

Finchley Road audi was the closest with just a fwd 2.0tfsi. all show up on the used audi website if it's any help

When I was collecting the S3, a couple were in front collecting their new TTS (white). The Sales guy commented it was a nice car... my reply was... "nah, I'll keep the S3 thanks!" :p Fur coats and no knickers summarises my experiences of the TT!

Don't know what app / site everybody uses to get the movie pictures (in a convenient manner) but the Police Academy scene where the big guy enters the Nissan Micra/whatever would do it here... :)

lol had another one last night! As you can see in the vid the guy in the Jag takes the right hand lane for some strange reason! I saw he had two pipes out the back so knew it was a fairly big engine....just before the lights changed he moved forward (you can see the shadow in the vid). I thought he's going to boot it here with his auto Jaaaag....so I did as well :)

The before:

The after:

It's moments like this that I feel I should get another S3 and not the new A5 coupe!!! The test drive in a few weeks when they get one in should make my mind up.

Noticed you really enjoy the odd flutter with the right foot off the lights etc and I've more than a sneaky suspicion you'd miss the need for speed! Not saying the A5 coupe is slow, I'm sure it isn't, but I reckon it's gonna have to impress the balls off you to take you out the 'S' club!! lol

Yeah I know exactly what you're saying mate. I'm not a mad driver and always stick to the limits in and around town, but as you say I do like to show these gits in their big flashy cars who the daddy is when it's safe to do so lol :D I love the grip and instant power the S3 has.

Ha very true AB. Although I can't imagine it's massive compared to the S3?

VED £230 vs £185
Service costs 3L vs 2L
MPG 22 vs 28 (?)

Yeah mate, it's not massive in the scheme of things.
Year one VED is £500 v £185 before it reduces and slight difference on insurance.
None of them a deal breaker though.
Most folk like us go into it with our eyes open too.
