Ordered... S4 Avant

The strange thing is the second order was placed just one week after the first, looking at the details, but the delivery is 3 months later, given they are exactly they same spec I was shocked.

That's why I'm curious that I ordered mine last week and got build week 17 end of April. Must be retail group quotas?

So each dealership gets an allotted amount of cars they can order? I've always said, I'll be surprised if week 46 happens. The production has already been put back a great deal. I waited 5 months for my B8.5
 
Am inching towards the below, just trying to agree the final numbers with the dealer:

S4 Avant
Navarra Blue
19" 5V-Spokes
LIght & Vision Pack
Privacy Glass
Flat-Bottomed wheel
Folding Mirrors
Hill Hold Assist

Had specced the Sports Diff, but it was screwing with the figures too much (and the wife is taking convincing in any case!) so that's out and I figure I won't know any better so no harm done. Plus with two small people in the back it's less likely I'll be hooning around the place...

Also debating on a 3 or 4 year PCP deal. Better monthlies on the latter of course but waiting to hear what the dealer says about any GMV "issues".

Interestingly they are also waiting on their next batch of build slots - they have the dealer cars locked in for Week 43 (I had a look but the spec was all over the place so no good for me) but were waiting for assignments from Audi UK for tail-end of this year and Q1 2017. That was true for the A4 as well as the S4. Guessing they have to account for the slow down/shutdown in the festive season.

Nice spec @RRB.

Go for it. You can trade in much sooner now so GFV not so much an issue. I'm trading in early for mine. Light & Vision pack a must. Thumbs up!

Well my order has slipped back two weeks to 28th Nov when I checked it this morning. The second order which I'm still following has also gone back by a couple of weeks.

Wtf mine now says 23rd Jan! I think my order went in a couple of weeks before you guys as well. So much for an early Xmas present, gutted!

December before any S4 demonstrators arrive in showrooms - central Scotland anyway I am informed.
 
Every order starting to slip quite far now! Gulp.

Shouldn't open the order books if the parts arnt available in my eyes but, just have to be patient. What's the common denominator here? All your orders Nevarra Blue?

Just wondering if non availability is the issue with this.

Opportunity to ask for some freebies from the dealer.

I feel a free boot protector coming on, hmm does the S4 come with the Audi rings puddle lights?

If not I might ask them to throw some of them in if it slips into 2017.

I've been pushing my local dealer for an S4 deal based on a Carwow quote, and they are currently working on it.
My spec is:

Misano Red
Privacy Glass
Electric Seats
Electric Mirrors
Vision Pack
Storage Pack
Driver Assistance Pack
19" 5 spoke wheels

Does anyone know how much service packs are being sold at?
 
Has anyone gone for the S4 saloon? Seems to be only Avants are being ordered

I've gone for a saloon in black, and that seems to have the latest build date, so maybe they're doing a load of avants first. (And clearly there's only one machine, and one guy who can operate it, and he's got a long Xmas holiday planned, and he won't work weekends, sheesh!)

Well, I checked MyAudi this morning and my build date has jumped back again from 23rd Jan to 21st November. It seems like it's all a bit of a lottery! At least now I'm over any hopes of getting it before Christmas, so I'll just sit back and I'll get it when I get it!

Well thats good news. Just checked and mine's come back a week to the 21st Nov as well.

Interestingly the second order the dealer sent is also now 21st nov. So they'll have two car for me at this rate.

Dealer reckons they have one late November at the moment as it seems the production of their demo has pushed back a couple of weeks.

All change again for my build week. Now into 28th Nov.
 
I would think they are added into the factory builds first then out to owners, but what do I know...
 
There's a lot of new design in the B9 and the S4 has a brand new engine. I think you need to be realistic and anticipate updates/recalls.
 
Well, have emailed the dealer to order the build I mentioned above as we're at a decent place finance-wise. Asked for a confirmed build week and order number and we'll see what a difference a few weeks makes compared to the early order posse on here in terms of build week!

Those that have ordered so far can I ask what holding deposit you had to put down? I remember putting next to nothing down on my S3 - deposit pretty much just before delivery - but have heard some vicious rumours about Audi wanting more upfront these days. No problem with it as such since they've got to make the car, just want to be forearmed if possible!
