2016 Map Update

Finally, a call from Mark at Audi UK to say the Special Destinations widget is now back on my.Audi.com. I hope it is also for the others who had the same problem. When I said I shall await the next disappearance he did admit that it is a bit flaky!

No joy here - anyone know a long hand way to do this without the need for my.Audi ?

Flaky doesn't even begin to describe Audi's software. Other than contacting Customer Services again (which I'm sure you've done) I don't know what else to suggest.

Rob, if you PM me I might be able to generate the data on an SD card for your special destinations. I'd need your Speed Cameras though as if I use mine I'll get shot or worse!

I wasn't aware there was an issue until now, got the same problem so I've raised it through Audi chat online which they've passed it onto 'factory', no idea....
Will see what happens.

I was in my local Audi Dealer on Monday and I looked at a FL A3 with Connect package - the Special Destinations option is still there albeit in a slightly different format on MMI2 (see below). So I grabbed "my" salesman and had a go at him about this situation. I told him that I was expecting another call from Audi CS yesterday and that I would report what they said. Yesterday I had that call from Audi CS about the disappearance of the Special Destinations widget in myaudi.com and they said that my enquiry (from 6 weeks ago) has been "escalated to Level 2 Support in Germany" but there is no timescale for them to respond. I reported that back to my salesman and the Head of Business and lo and behold I had a call today from the "Audi UK Product and Technology Specialist for the SW". He told me that the widget has ben deliberately removed by Audi Germany "because no-one used it". I told him that was rubbish and that there are many other A3/S3 Connect users on this forum who DO use it regularly. He has promised to contact Audi Germany himself to ask whether they plan to reinstate it and will phone me tomorrow with an answer. I suspect that the answer is that it will not be reinstated so we will have to lump it (or use the McCaddys app).

He also told me that Audi Germany are introducing an eShop and will be selling the Connect map updates - but when and how much is not yet known. But he did say that further updates will be free of charge until the eShop opens.

can you clarify where/how you logged in to see the latest map available?

OK as promised the Audi UK Product and Technology Specialist for the SW Region did phone me the day after my call to him (I've been away so only now reporting to you guys). He had spoken to his guy in Germany and the answers (such as they are) are:

1. The Special Destinations widget has been deliberately removed from the website as they are upgrading it all to work with MIB 2 and other new Audi cars and it is not compatible with MIB 1 cars. The matter is under investigation. This guy is going to Germany and will be talking to Eric who is the guru for all these matters. But he admitted that they may not find a solution which I told him is totally unacceptable - I purchased the Connect system partly because I could add my own POIs and for Audi to remove this feature after 2 years is disgraceful. I naturally have not told him about the mcaddy software fix. Currently the myaudi website is run from Germany but in the future it will be be run from whichever country your VIN relates to. Can't see the benefit of that but ......
2. I have been asked to take my car into my dealer for them to do a "disreport" which sends the information directly from my car to the Audi AG computer.
3. A number of us have asked about what happens when our Connect licences run out. Connect will be (and is for us) a 3 year licence and after that they will offer us renewal at (price not fixed but likely to be) £100 for a further 1 year, £200 for 2 years and £300 for 3 years. This will cover all the current features - eg online traffic, Google Maps etc.

He has promised to call me when he is back in the UK at the end of this month.

Well the Audi UK Product and Technology Specialist did phone me as did Kelly from Audi CS and both said there was no news yet about Special Destinations. But today I went onto my.audi.com and they have miraculously re-appeared! How long they might be there is of coiurse unknown but at least they're back!

Thanks to mcaddy's app for the facility to add Speed Camera locations but I really needed to add other personal POIs and now I can. Whoopee!

OMG !! Mine is back today !!, checked yesterday and it was still missing - can only assume that your persistence has lead them to re-enable it - thanks for this :friends:

Need to read through the POI thread again and update my camera database.

In the process looks like they screwed up the Audi AU MyAudi site, not that it does much for us Aussies with S3's anyway .......

I would love to be able to pre add nav destinations and use picture destinations.

Oh well, back to my Audi cave with no windows.
