Apoligise for a bit of a pointless post but I'm curious to what cars are on the same level as my 1.8 s Tronic.
If both cars were stock then would my car likely or unlikely be faster than cars such as a fiesta st, BMW 320i, Astra gtc? Say you were both at traffic lights for example?

Got any stories or experiences with coming up against these sort of cars? how did they turn out? Thanks in advance!

lol ;)

Go on admit it, we all do it from time to time! It gets a bit boring winning all the time with an S3 though :p

I had a bike off the other day AND I even gave him a head start by letting him jump the lights :D

Sorry, I never do. I must be a grown up or something ;-)

Great, thanks for your even more pointless comment..

Well, lets be honest with ourselves, you kind of set the bar in terms of pointlessness by enquiring about the potential outcomes of motor racing in a straight line in mid range family hatchback, using a gearbox and clutch system that does everything for you.

Did that cyclist really go through a red light? I've seen the police pull cyclists up for that before!

Yeah, look at the lights in the middle of the road, 100% on red. He scared the life out of me when he whizzed up the inside of me and almost took my mirror off....and it's right outside the Police station! (lol and I still booted it...pot/kettle :p)

In London, cyclists almost never stop at red lights. Neither do they have any regard for one way streets, pavements, pedestrians, trucks, buses, or their own mortality. That's why we seem to kill about one of the daft pillocks every week.

1.8 litre A3's are rarely a problem for them though. Even if they do stop at the red lights, the Lycra clad loons boast a higher power to weight ratio, slick tyres, and quicker changing clutchless gearshifts through an average of 20 gears.
