Evening all

I was wondering if anyone could help with where I could obtain (if poss without going to Audi) the speaker mesh cover that fits on the drivers door on an Audi A3 Sportback? It's the one by the electric window controls. Also does anyone know if it's easy to fit? (Do-able?!?) I've managed to crack my one I appreciate all help.

Part number is 8v3 035 410 a. A quick search says around 35 quid but it may be cheaper from Mike the parts guy. I suggest you open up a parts enquiry and ask him.

Very easy to remove and reinstall. I broke mine the first time I removed it as it is a bit thin :( I don't remember the exact price but a replacement was way cheaper than £35 2 years ago. Give the parts enquiry service a go.

Thanks for the info @DJAlix Does it just gently prise out? (Working around the edges) Feels pretty thin, I only tapped it when quickly reaching for the door handle. :(

It is pretty thin and the fact that its also mesh does not help its strength :(

Basically yer, you need to use a trim removal tool or plastic spatular type thing to gently work / slide your way around the cover in order to pop out the securing clips. A heavy guitar pick should also work if you don't have any tools available.

Hey all. Ordered this speaker cover part form this websites parts dept and it was all great and was very easy to fit, so thanks all.

One thing that I discovered was that the original speaker cover didn't have any perforations where the speaker is ?!? Is this usual ?!? Wouldn't this affect sound quality as there's no escape for the sound and it would muffle the music. I've got the Audi Sound System setup. When you now look at the passenger door you can't see a perforated circle but you can on the new part which I've fitted to the drivers door. Is this normal? Picture of the old part below.

I don't know about the Audi Sound System, but my B&O has the holes cut out on those panels - you can see the outline of the circle in the right light.

Maybe they fitted blanking panels by mistake? I agree it seems odd as it surely must block the sound.
