Hi guys just fitted set of eibach sportline springs to my a3. The front has settled nice but rear is very low and rubs every so often. Has anyone had this issue or any advice to stop rubbing. Im doing 500 mile trip to scotland friday and worried about rubbing with luggauge ect thanks

Are they the correct sprigs for the car? And how low did the springs say it would lower the car?

If it rubs with no luggage or passengers then it's a dead cert it will with luggage and passengers.

They are for scirocco but read on few sites same fitment so my jus be why its lower and think around 35 on rear the front are bang on

It only rubs if hit a bump it speen hump wrong and little fast

Mine did this only after fitting 20mm spacers. You using standard wheels?

Na no spacers pal yeah il post one soon as bk to my car pal

Remove the screw in the rear arches, see if that sorts it.

Are you sure there standard wheels for the car? They have quite a bit of poke for standard wheels!

Where the bumper meets the arch you have a screw, remove the screw and you may take the rubbing away mate

Im sure they are standard s line wheels i think i seen them on the invoice for the car when was purchased brand new but not sure

What Eibach part number is the Sportlines ?

I'm not condoning what you've done , putting VW Scirocco springs on a Audi A3 8P.

Eibach springs are finely tuned to specific axle weights .

They look like standard but do poke out more than mine ever did mate, I've removed the bolt and cut the arch lining back on mine because I drive It quite low! I would have thought a scirocco would be heavier meaning your car would sit higher but I must be wrong!

Im not sure on part numbers i should of took pic before fitted it is maybe due to axle weight then when i checked on darkside website the h and r were exactly same as a3 to scirocco so thought fitment must be the same. im not too fussed as can avoid rubbin if take my time on bumps and hopefully wont rub on flat road to scotland

I thought scirroco would weigh more but must be wrong too lol im pretty sure its all standard im the 2nd owner and dont think previous owner had messed with it not that im aware of anyway

They may just sit like that then mate! Honestly take that bolt out and it will help, next step would be to get a slight stretch on the tyre

These are my wheels to get rid of the rubbing, stretch is frowned upon by many though!

Not as much as fitting different vehicle springs !

What's your engine code and do you know the year , bhp and engine code of the Scirocco , Matt ?

Yeah thats an idea pal n was off a 2.0tdi scirroco thats all know mate i was jus goin off darksides advice that mk5 golf platform a3 and scirroco all same fitment il do the bolt and see if helps cheers mate

I can't even begin to assess the axle weights as you don't have the information , there are no less than 6 choices of Mk 3 Scirocco 2.0 TDI .

Some may think what is all the fuss about but those in the know will understand this practice feels like an axe in the head...

The correct Eibach Sportline kit for you ,
I suggest you fit it !
