Mixed opinions of the new RS3 design I see...

I can understand that many here are not getting over excited.
Esentially looking like you would have imagined interpolating the S3 facelift saloon with RS3 pre facelift sportback...

Personally love it though!

And the sound in the video, ohhhhhh...

So how much did you pay for your French ****?.....:whistle2:

Because it's French it's suitably cheap.
Been 4 years in 6 Audi's.
An expensive route back to Renault, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I'm just not into VAG! Except for my wife's.................S5.

After six Audis I guess you are excused to try something else... :)

Over here with registration tax, the S3 is about £55,000 while the current RS3 is about £65,000. If the RS3 Sedan will be around the same price at £65,000 it will still be way cheaper than M2's £78,500 and CLA45's £75,700. Usually, Audis are priced with decent options here already but you'll need at least £5-10K to make a BMW/Merc with drivable option... Superior power and at £10K+ less, I think it will sell ok here, plus RS usually retains value much better over here than M or AMG coz maybe RS is no where near as mainstream as M or AMG?

Holy Cr*p....I thought the UK was out of line with pricing...Hong Kong is just outrageous. 55,000 quid!!! that is almost double what I will pay. I looked at going back to Bonny Scotland for retirement, then reviewed costs of living etc.....and said "Dougie get a grip of your knickers, this not going to fly, just stay in Vancouver"
Hong Kong is definitely not even worth considering. No wonder that people from HK are moving to Vancouver!

The interesting about the RS3 unveil is that I don't really want to trade into an S3 anymore.

I will either upgrade my car's suspension or get the RS3!

Try Singapore if you think that is bad. The current RS3 Sportback is around £160,000 before any options are added!

Mate just put a deposit on the RS3 saloon on Friday trading up from his S3 saloon, was told March delivery. Will find out more tomorrow when I see him but expect he's dropped an extra £25k into the car or doubled his monthly payments !!

Sportback body style to follow I believe.

Wow, there must be some pretty serious salaries in Singapore to be able to afford one of those at that price.

Yeah £25k sounds about right mate that's what I roughly priced it out at. What's he gone for colour wise?

A new S3 saloon is nearly as much, priced at £130K before options...

I know someone that lives there and his 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 with 200K on the clock is up for sale for £11,000!

Not sure mate he sent me a cryptic txt saying that the deposit was down - will get the low down tomorrow !! His current car is Black with Lunar and was one of the first Saloons in the U.K.

He's gone the low deposit high monthly route which is good in the way that you don't see your deposit going down the drain with depreciation.

I didn't realise they had opened the order books on the RS so soon....I might pop down to my local dealers and see what sort of money it's going to take to get me in one??

Have been playing with the idea as well, very very tempting..., but the price mentioned by Rob was really the reality check I needed... :D

(If at all possible to order...)

On the side topic of countries with expensive cars, just downloaded the Norwegian A3/S3 price list.

List price of A3 2.0 quattro tfsi 190 ps (without any extra equipment) :

447700 nkr, about 41000 pounds...

Not quite sure whether this includes the registration fee of 113126 nkr or not...

Document covered S3 models as well but prices tags were missing.
Likely it would be too shocking... :fearscream:

Denmark is much the same, enjoying vast new car taxes. I bought a new car there about 15 years ago, and because I drove it straight onto a ferry on export plates I didn't have to pay the new car tax. i did have to pay vat when I got it home though, but even so, I saved well over a third of the price of a uk dealers best offer.

A 2.0tdi Quattro there looks to be about £57,000!

Oh yeah, forgot about that alternative...

Since the car related taxes are so high in Denmark, many car makers lower their profit margins over there.

Was very popular here in Sweden some years ago to do like you did and buy the car in Denmark.

Haven't heard much about it lately though.
Gotta check it out next time...

Yep Kudos to Jassy just spoke to my mate - it's more of a letter of intent than anything else. No options, colours, price or ETA.
