so just a little update on the new plugs, wow what a difference they make idle much smoother feels more responsive and the exhaust noise has gone a bit deeper

so I've been wanting to do this next mod of mine for a while now and when i got in from work the missis was out with my 2 year old so i thought lets do it lol,

my b6 has the interior low level lighting in the door handles but it was so low it might aswell of not been there lol very dim even at night you couldn't see it,

so i set about getting some new brighter red leds keeping in with the black and red theme. i stripped all my door cards down and removed the tiny led that was doing nothing as you can see from the photos

fitted the new led in its place and the results speak for itself

not very good with descriptions so ill show you my pictures lol

so this was the original lighting very poor

so with a little door card stripping i got to the original led

this is the led in its holder

so got a load of these cheap

as you can see much brighter

slotted the new led in the holder

the new led was a little loose so i secured it with a little of this and some tape

fix it back into its holder

end result in the daylight as you can see much brighter already

and some very poor darker shots i took but you get the idea a nice brighter red glow now

sorry for the poor photos only got iPhone camera

thanks for looking

So my week didn't start off very good on my way to London one of my compressors for my airlift kit kept blowing fuses. With a little investigation I traced the fault to one of the compressors went bad so I had to order a new one

With a new one fitted she was ready to slam again

Then my wiper linkage became very slow and was juddering across the screen

So today I attempted to take out my wiper motor and linkage due to it getting very slow. I managed to get out the linkage stripped it down rubbed down and re greased the spindles refitted it all and everything is spot on and so much quicker and all little squeaks have gone

Some photos

Not updated this for a while not much has changed apart from fitting a new front splitter which I think looks great and sets the front off and I think that's what the front was missing. I've got some new photos on the Audi and a new mod coming soon which I'll post up once completed in the next week or so

For now some new pictures

So a little update for the old girl.

I wanted to do this mod for a while I know it might not be to everyone's taste but I love it and they are purely for show

I fitted a little red led in my projector in my headlights to give the devil eye look. I've fitted a switch so I can use them while the lights are off aswell

Done a vid didn't I lol something quite relaxing about it

Also gave her a full service with all filters and oil etc

I did a little calculation of how many miles I've done this year. Not that many lol

So a bit of an update on this thread.

Every since I've owned the car on the first cold start up of the day I would get a little rattle sounded like chain area but after that through out the day on and off I got no rattles at all even if the car was left for several hours it would only rattle for a second if left over night for at least 7 hours so I bit the bullet and thought I'd open the old girl up and replace the timing chain tensioner.

I hunted around for the part and was getting silly prices between £200-£300 I managed to get one for £90 off a friend who has a friend.

So I set about changing it I watched loads of YouTube videos on the best way to change it with only removing the essentials. Rocker cover off removed inlet cam and the exhaust cam carriers and just moved it out the way slightly tensioned the old tensioner with a special little black wind in tool managed to slip the chain off and slip it over the new tensioner new seal, gaskets and everything then refitted everything torquing all bolts back to factory settings and started her up.

Wow what a difference she runs like a dream no nasty metal rattle cold starts and she idles a lot smoother.

In the tensioner there is a one way valve which builds up oil pressure mine was leaking back into the sump allowing the tensioner to loose pressure causing the rattle at cold start up

While everything was stripped down I took the time to have a good look internally for any crud or oil sludge and cleaned up parts you don't get a chance to any other time. I was so happy and amazed to see everything still golden with no oil sludge and no signs of burnt cams or worn carriers she was like a new engine inside very happy indeed

Some pictures for you

Been thinking of different wheel options

Option 3 would be my choice, but why change at all?

JG

I do like option 3. The only reason I'm looking at new wheels just for a bit of a change

I get what your saying about a change of wheel, seems like I change my winter set every year after paying for a refurb and running them one winter.

Heyho, it's only money. :sadlike:

Pics required when you get round to fitting your final choice.

I really like the fat fives personally, I know exactly what you mean about the wheel itch though :whistle2:

Just signed up recently, been on audi-sport for a while so I've read your thread an I think your car looks ace. I may be a bit bias though since I've got a B6 saloon too...

What size wheels are you looking for? I'm running 19x9.5" ET40 all round and thats a very snug fit, not sure how you'd go on with those specs and your air suspension though

Thanks for the thread read bud good to know people still look at it.

I do love the fat 5's but just fancy something different I'll prob keep the fat 5's for a change every no and then. Not too sure on the new wheel specs yet very similar to what I'm running now I guess 9.5 et40 yeh bet that's a snug fit lol

That garage you're parked in looks very much like a small garage near me.. where abouts is it?

Well that's the complete other side of the country to me :tearsofjoy:

On another note, the amount of work and effort you've put into your car is top notch. Looks cracking!
