Does it look better with a cut down number plate ?

No from me! Sorry, just looks to 'boy racer'ish' and sure to attract unwanted attention from both chav and constable!!!
I'm afraid I'm with jimbojet on this one as I much prefer the full sized type myself, I very rarely see a cut down plate down my way.

I like to be as inconspicuous as possible and given the aforementioned rarity round here, you'd have a higher chance of being pulled over (not on legality grounds I might add, but the 'powers that be' might want to run a few checks, that's all).

If you like them then that's all that matters really. :smile new:

Yep, the height of bad taste..................very chavvy indeed :(

In fact I'm throwing shortened plates into my 'sin bin' along with:

- mono-pussy
- wheels lowered beyond wheel arch
- window deflectors
- gloss black wheels
- fluffy dice
- mud flaps
- anti static strips....................and so on and so forth.........

.....If you like shortened plates that's fine.................you just don't have as good taste as me ;)

Cheers for the comments guys, I've decided to go for the shorter look and I've ditched the sticker
looks niceee!! have you got a pic of the front with short plate?

Four.Dot offer a short plate integrated into a normal sized background. You can have any background detail you like, and it allows a short plate on the front without changing the whole grille.

Here's mine;

Alternatively they can do you a signature shaped plate, here's yours @C2 DTN

Awful I'd have thought. The plate won't fill the recess in the grille properly. That's why I bought the plates photographed above.

wow them plates are amazing but i cant justify paying that much for plates although they would look brilliant. whats this recess your talking about?

£75? I've spent more on polish or having twinkly lights in the dashboard... people spend much more to have Audi forgoe the expense of fitting polished chrome trim instead of black...

The recess is the moulded number plate mount on the front grille. The number plate fits into / onto it, and it'll look decidedly weird with a short plate on it;

Could be worse of course, look at the mess the colonials have to put up with...

The trouble with the front grille is that there's a place for the plate so a short one might not look so good.. The RS3 grille hasn't

i just morally feel wrong to spend that much on a number plate even though there perfect unless someone buys me a set hint hint ;)

oh yeah i didnt notice the grill has the area where the plates sits, having a short one and the outer area not filled up could look odd but i wont be able to judge that until i saw one on it.

ewww that square plate looks awful

Of course, just as soon as I get the ****** thing... Only 7 months and two days since I ordered it...
lucky guy the new facelift looks beautiful with extra 10bhp , i have put a deposit down on a used s3 which im collecting in 2 weeks and this wait is killing me cant imagine waiting 7 months but knowing its the new model it will be worth the wait

A bizarre outlook when you consider;

You've already bought a short registration number,
You'll spend a fortune on polishes, waxes, and detergents.
You'll invest in a pressure washer,
You'll spend hours grafting on it and buggering up your knees and back cleaning the wheels.
You'll photograph and take pride in it, and even post pictures here.

But you'll keep the mobile dealer advertising hoardings or massive legally mandated white and yellow carbuncles that make up 20% of the face of your car?

And then you cite the moral issues in spending money on frivolous tinsel. That argument might hold water on a Dacia owner forum, but you bought an Audi my friend, a marque that is absolutely defined by the frivolous and expensive tinsel on its options lists!

So, stop being tight, and get 'em bought.

Weird thing is, I actually ordered the old model... didn't know anything about the facelift until later, and ended up with one on order after an ordering **** up was compounded by a factory closure and they couldn't physically supply my original order.

hahahah this made me chuckle , i havent purchased a plate yet. i love detailing cars have been for over 15 years and to be honest my setup is not that much max total £500, its not that i cant afford it i had a cls63 amg before this and i got that really cheap too and sold it after 2 years for a profit .
i cant justify spending that must on plates unless you buy me a set since you find it easy to be lose :)
Its like buying a £15 pizza or a £1400 pizza from gordon ramsey maze restaurant
get my point
