My a5 2011 is filled with stone chips in the front and somewhat on the sides as well.

Been spending the weekend correcting as much as I can but im a perfectionist and its driving me mad.

I called a local paint shop to ask what a whole car paintwork would cost and the said about 25-3000 Euros..

A vinyl would be roughly 10-1500 Euros and would be a Quick fix for a few years.

OR should I just ignore it and take it for what it is, an old car?

I swear to god im leasing my next car brand new to avoid people who cant take care of cars properly.. how come they can cover all the chips so well at the dealership? I just noticed this after a month and after several washes

From what I've been told a wrapper won't put a wrap over a car that isn't 100%, so would have to respray before you could wrap it anyway....

I think stone chips and the like come through a wrap very easily so won't do much to hide them.

I would respray then get a clear wrap to protect it in future. My S5 only has 7k on the clock and is already covered in chips...

As much as I love my car I would not spend £2500 (or 3k euro) on a 5 year old car to get it sprayed only to have stone chips appear potentially within a matter of minutes.

If it matters that much put the cash to a newer car and get it thoroughly checked by a local detailer who can then protect it for you before it hits the road.

Of course if you've already spent £ thousands on mods ignore me completely:shutup2:

Thanks for the input guys.

What im going to do is just respray the front which would be about 300p. It's a daily drive so not worth a respray all over.

But yeah next car will be a lease, seems like its getting better and better to do so and you get a brand new car.

Yeah it sucks, I guess a dark wrap on a dark car would be somewhat good for looks as it doesnt pop out as much then but not worth the Money now I realised.

Not all it's cracked up to be. My S5 is the first finance deal I have done (basically a lease, but with the option to buy at any time) and while it has enabled me to drive a brand new well specced S5, it costs a lot when you add it all up...

I also underestimated the psychology of actually owning a car. I miss it a lot! Not buying a new car again I don't think...well not after this one anyway...

Yeah I can understand the feeling of having a "rental" car but at the same time no worries except for looking at your miles and keeping it in good condition (which should be easy when you treat the car well) also you dont have to shell in the 20% cash when you buy one.

I'm sort of passed the stage where I need coilovers and massive aftermarket rims as well. (getting old?) haha.

Would love to lease a S car from Audi but yet to find a dealer that does, most is just normal A with sneak Equipment and not even S-line.

Do I have to request the dealership about an S3 or something perhaps to look at a deal?

Oh I was never into all that modification melark. On my old A5 I just retrofitted parts from higher spec models. Always kept it Audi OEM parts.

Just generally it feels....different. Like you don't quite bond to it as much. I am far less precious about my S5 since I know it will be going back (maybe...still thinking of buying it outright). I mean of course I look after it and am massive on detailing it, but it's not the same!

I take it by your use of euros you are not UK so I can't really help you. Mine is on a Personal contract Purchase, where you pay X amount over a set period, and at the end of the term you can either trade it in and put it towards another car and start again, hand it back, or pay the final agreed payment and keep it.

Leases are different. Not flexible and no option to buy it. Here in the U.K, you can save a load by going through third party brokers. Can get good discounts and then go personal contract purchase, or can find cheap lease deals.

Good luck!

Im in Sweden so its probably a bit different.

I was told by Audi just yesterday that I can lease whatever Audi I want and build it myself and so on but obviously the more premium models and with all the Equipment and exterior stuff I would want it would be rather expensive. They do have these offers from time to time though which are rather good where they throw in different packages, will probably just have to wait for one of those.

I have another option to lease via my workplace as well but then I would have to limit myself to a certain amount of cash. Around 320-340k euros and also check which Engine that doesnt go over 120g/km co2. I managed to build a new a3 sedan with S-line in and out and all the stuff I wanted so im looking at this option as well.

Hard choices to be fair, no car deal is good but just have to find one which is the most valuable in the end.
