just bought myself the new Karcher K5 Premium with all the gizmos inc snow lance - TBH I don't really snow foam until now....what is the best one to go for....my car has been g-tec'd so want what will work best with keeping this Coat ;-)

Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I have struggled to find one I've been happy with.

But what I will say is you need a good lance. If you mean the lance included is the one with the grey bottle, it won't work unfortunately. Snow foam lances take in a mixture of air, to create the foam whereas the Karcher lance is more for the chemical spreading side of things.

I bought a lance for under £20 and it never worked properly. You need to buy a good lance and expect to pay up to £50 (or else it won't be much good) and only then I think the snow foams will have an effect. I've bought all the branded snow foam and it looks cool, but never clung to the car it always ran off by the end of the soak time and therefore made absolutely no difference to the cleanliness of the paintwork.

Get a good lance and almost all snow foams will work as well as they should.

Thanks mate - all good advice.

I'm pretty sure the one that comes with the Karcher pack is the grey bottle one you mention so once it's had its first test I will be looking at a replacement.

One I have been looking at is...Autobrite HD Foam Lance & MagiFoam 5L for £50.

Cheers

I've tried quite a few snow foams and the one I've stuck with because it works the best is Bilt Hamber.

Ultimate snow foam for the winter months and ph neutral snow foam for the warmer months, would have said summer months but it seems we don't really get one anymore

No problem.

Yeah you won't get full effect from that lance unfortunately, I put holes in the top of mine in the end and it did something but wasn't much use at all haha.

That's the name I were trying to think of, Autobrite. I've heard good things about those lances.

I've got one of those. Absolutely spot on bit of kit. The snow foam is ok as part of the deal. I'm getting to the end of my magician and am thinking of trying the bilt hamber stuff that people go on about. Magifoam did the job though. The lance is fully adjustable so you can make it as thick or thin foam as you'd like.

Thanks for the feedback - so just to be clear I should stick with the Karcher foam lance and the high quality foam that they throw into the package or are we saying autobrite HD lance all the way and probably Bilt Hamber foam...:a bit like comparing a local garden pool party to ocean beach pool party eh ;-)

Seriously, thanks guys - this thread was a big help.

No need to thank, it is what the forum is here for and it's nice to help.

Did you mean stick with the Autobrite lance? I wouldn't bother with the Karcher, give it a test and you will understand why haha. Get yourself the Autobrite lance and test the snow foam, there are SO MANY on the market it's difficult to know without trying them all. Just experiment but don't go super cheap on it, make sure it's PH neutral to protect any coatings / wax you have as the last thing you want is to strip those haha!

Just a tip off, Autobrite have their premium lance and 500ml of snow foam reduced from £50 to £34, I couldn't resist :-D

I blend Vp citrus wash( just a splash) in with Cotton Candy Snow Foam, great results, 7 to 8 minute Dwell.

I've got the Autobrite HD lance, and as others have said it's a great bit of kit. The Magifoam you get in their pack is ok, does what it should, but I've recently switched to Carbon Collective Satsuma and it's so much better!

Just got mine on that deal as the karcher one was ok at first , but was usless six months in. The autobrite looks the biz and hope to use it this weekend. The G tech foam seems ok , dodo juice smells nice, will try them all in the autobrite , and the magifoam.
I went with G techniq as mine was detailed in exo and topped up with C2v3. Though also use Maguires QD which gives good results. Have heard good things about Bilt Amber. Will give them all a try and decide which one wins for me.
The current deal with autobrite is good and if you see other stuff on their site ,add on to mske best use of the postage. One thing , it did take a while to arrive. Think ot was about ten days. Maybe they are busy due to the deal !

@jassyo06 - Whoa ! Just noticed this ^ post
Jassy posting in the Detailing section, what ever next :D:D:D
Must be feeling outta your comfort zone buddy lol

I got given a sample of the chemical guys honeydew snow foam and was quite impressed by it's cleaning power, nice thick foam and dwelled quite well considering the car is regularly waxed. The only down side is the smell. the honeydew melon smell is amazingly sweet and made me hungry

Tried the Karcher bottle, was rubbish, EBayed it. This is an Autobrite lance and Chemical Guys No Touch snow foam (not sure they make this anymore)...
