DTE and TD1

I have a friend who had the DTUK box, when plugged in to VCDS, threw up some torque limiter codes etc.

Thanks for replies.
This is worrying.

When I went to buy my car it was already fitted with a tuning box. The owner had left it connected and was going to remove it when the car sold.
Because I checked the car with VAG-COM I could see there were events on the fuel rail pressure sensor when he had disconnected the sensor to connect the box. And it was only when I asked him about this that he said the car had a tuning box.
It's quite possible codes will be stored in the ECU to indicate the possibility of a tuning box being fitted. so although you may remove it an observant person could possibly deduce that a tuning box may have been fitted.
However there are other possible reasons for these codes being present so it's not a slam dunk.
The best thing to do as stated above is just to check the car for fault codes. A VCDS scan or even using Carista and a £5 bluetooth dongle would allow you to clear any codes present.

TB1 code is another thing to worry about I guess although there is a poster who gets on really well with his Dealer, has a TB and asked them to spot it using their system and they couldn't. Imho if you mod the car within warranty you just need to have your eyes open to a potential kicking if you try to claim for, say, a fried engine.

TX.
