Where are you based mate ?

I'm quite lucky as my local dealer in Daventry takes the car to Revo's HQ. Also as I have Revo stage 1 it's only £50 for the stage 2 S/W upgrade.

I'm in the northeast but don't trust the dealer.

I may have to bite the bullet and go to Revo HQ to get it done.

Where exactly is it ? @Rob2k68

Hi Guys,

I plan to go Stage 2 MAYBE when my warranty is over. I think I will pick Revo as I have someone local and they seem to be recommended.

At the moment I have a box standard S3... I know Stage 1 is just a map but I understand Stage 2 is a Map, Intake, Intercooler and Exhaust (uprated brakes recommended... I see why.. 15minutes of hard driving and I couldnt stop the S3, had to stop... full stop (too many stops hahaha). needed to let them cool).

Anyways what sort of cost am I looking at? I assumed £2k but I guess this is how much the exhaust would cost alone?! Obviously for a car like this, you can't just go cheap but at the same time I have bills to pay... ok that isnt the issue... but having a missus is and explaining why spending a few £1k's on a car is a good idea is an endless battle.. but a £1000 handbag is ok!!!!

@wesley, there website looks good. I'm really struggling to locate somewhere that many people have used.

So I could take it to Revo HQ ? @Rob2k68

If you book it in and take it to Reflex Auto Design then yes they will then drive the car around the corner to Revo HQ who will upload the S/W to your car. Will be a fun drive home !! ;o)

@Rob2k68 can you go with them to HQ etc to view them loading the map?

@Forbzeeee think I might haha.

When I had my map taken off and then put back on for the first service I waited in reception on both occasions but I guess you could always ask. I've been to Revo HQ for something separate and they have a guest/customer reception area.

Oh well I'll have to ask, I'm looking at going in October so need to get the ball rolling.

Did they fine tune your stage 1 map @Rob2k68

Well worth asking Mike ;o)

No my stage 1 went on 15k miles ago now at the Edition 38 show last year, I went there to have a look at the BBK but in the end went for ECS discs and lines. Think I'm ready for stage 2 now a friend recently went Stage 2 and said that the difference was phenomenal more so the mid range than anything else.

Have you got the down pipe on now ?

That's good to hear @Rob2k68

No not yet I really need to get it on ASAP as I have a 20% voucher that expires on the 7th October.

I'm hoping I can book it in and use the voucher there and then and go at a later date fingers crossed.

Slight change of plan .... Milltek sport cat downpipe being fitted with Revo stage 2 this Friday. Going with the standard system for now as best gains are from the downpipe seen dynos showing 11bhp peak and 23bhp @ 5,000 rpm on a stock motor so with stage 2 S/W should be very entertaining. Full system is then approximately 3kg weight save and 3-4bhp plus you get the soundtrack and an empty wallet !!!

Yeah will try and get something sorted - prob try and borrow a vbox if I can. Won't be dynod this time round until I get the upgraded intercooler but still toying with fitting that myself but can always do a dyno run on it's own if I do that.

I'm getting stage 2 software installed on Saturday and then fitting down pipe on Sunday. I'm having Revos lower tourqe map to assist in reducing clutch slip etc. So I'll let you know how things go.

With me being manual and on standard clutch I'm going the safe route for now.

But we could compare note haha

I'm hoping that more manual owners will see this as there few and far between.

Definitely interested in the results, 2yr old manual owner still umming and ahing about stage1 due to clutch reputation!

Not at the moment as there will be no need.

When your DPs fitted and you go back to have the S/W set to full power, ask to have it re-data logged to ensure it's running optimal settings.

Will be interesting to see what numbers you get Mike. Will get mine dynod once the IC is fitted but would expect very similar numbers to yours albeit I'll have the S-tronic map on so torque may be slightly different.

Stage 2 is on albeit not the immediate mind blowing change going from standard to what stage 1 was. It's far more subtle and after only driving 50 miles so far the best way to describe it is that it fills the gaps left by stage 1. Immediate motorway overtaking from 3,000 rpm with bags of torque, easily pulling from 2,000 rpm around town and on the few occasions I got close to 4,000 rpm it just pushes you strongly into your seat. Very impressive indeed .... should be more so when at it's full potential once the intercooler is fitted next week.

Milltek sport cat downpipe is almost OEM noise levels no intrusiveness into the cabin at all which is what I was after, well worth the extra ££ :-

Sport cat mate - I don't believe there's much in them performance wise not to the degree that you'd imagine there to be anyway. Now that the DP has not caused a riot in the cabin I could be tempted to go full Milltek at some point. The Milltek has the cat up high and a decent length of flexible section similar to the OEM design which is why I went Milltek and not Scorpion.

If you don't mind saying what did the downpipe and decat set you back? Interested in having this done myself. ****** expensive this modding! Fancy some rs6 reps and having coilovers fitted!
