And i'm not talking about the 80's band before any one quick quips. ;)

Ok, so spec as follows:

A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI 150 5-Door S-tronic £27,385

Floret Silver £550
Comfort and Sound Pack (heated seats, rear parking sensors, B&O) £995
Folding mirrors £200
18" 10 spoke design alloy wheels in matt titanium £650
Auto dimming rear view mirror £125

Any thoughts, good or bad, or must haves?

Have never been really keen on the standard s-line wheels, but may delete this and buy some BBS CH in grey or black though.

Also, does the smoking pack still give you the little pot (coin pot) to go in one of the drink holders?

And Privacy glass, is this something that could be done locally, or best left as a factory fit option?

Thanks.

Crikey - does the comfort pack include heated seats now?
I'd get high beam assist and hold assist - both cheap.
I wish I had got ACC now.

Smoking pack - that is the "little pot" - it's the ashtray.
If you go for non-smoking you don't get the ashtray, but do get an uprated power socket. But most just ask for the ashtray to use as a coin pot when they pick up the car. I did. The salesman just took one out of a car in the showroom!!

IMO -

If its S Tronic hill hold is redundant. In know its cheap but I have yet to use it. The car sits fine on a hill and pulls away smoothly.
Loving Floret with the factory privacy.
Loving advanced key (but the key fob is the same as my 2007 TT ??)
Loving the £325 option wheels
Wish I had gone for B & O, went for the cheaper upgrade and its just ok.
Progressive steering is worth the money.
Like the extra torque of the 2.0 TFSI................but know all this starts to get expensive
PS wish I had the smoking pack - cant believe there is nowhere to keep change !

Ah, the agony of choice presented by the options list.

I've got the 10 spokes and Floret on my current car. Both are (yawn) very underwhelming. Floret has a lot of fans, and it does look nice, but that's as far as I'd go. It's nice.

Hill hold assist is worth it. I love it, but I have a manual. I've read here that it's not quite such a boon with the S&Tonic box.

If you're going to have gangsta tints, which I'm sure is a trend well past its sell by date, then do it properly and get the factory ones. Afternarket tints are almost without exception a bit gash, and are a declarable modification for your (more expensive) insurance. Same goes for aftermarket wheels.

Folding mirrors? I've turned them off. Pointless in my opinion. As if I'd ever leave the car in that sort of proximity to anything or anyone else anyway!

I'd bin the wheels, mirrors and drug dealer chic glazing and go for the advanced tech pack with virtual cockpit.

Nice car good options.
Floret is very nice and easy to keep looking good.
Privacy glass, well, if you really want those then yes as mentioned before get the factory ones.
Unless you do a lot of driving at night I'd bin the auto dimming rear view mirror.
I like all 3 available wheels so really just a case of choosing what you like most and fit your budget.

Definitely factory privacy glass!

P Glass is more than just aesthetics..it obviously reduces the glare for rear passengers ...I have two toddlers (mine) in the back and it negates the need for those dreadful (IMO) stick-on or pull down blinds...ALSO...with the rear w/s being tinted you shouldn't really need the auto dimming mirror...so take £125 away...i would also stick with standard parallels as again IMO look better and bigger than the 10 spokes and it would give you time if you really MUST change them for aftermarkets (would be a sin though!)

Unless you are parking in narrow streets i would also save the £200 on mirrors...

Oh and bin the s-tronic (ducks head) get a drivers manual!

See how much I have saved you! lol

Does the non-smoking package give an upgraded power socket? I thought it was 12v anyway but smoking pack just adds a cigarette lighter instead of a plastic cap and adds the ashtray/change pot?

Only you can choose the options @TDI-line! At the moment all you have done is get everyone to tell you what they would add/remove from the options you listed to turn it into the car they have/would order!

Wow, soo many good ideas and points of view.

And no one mentioned the Comfort and Sound pack RichardT.

Probably will take Floret with Privacy glass, but still not 100% on the 10 spoke alloys, especially when they are £650 now, and around £400 last year, grrr.

Folding mirrors are a must for me, love the way they open when the key goes, and close with the blip of the fob.

Thank you very much, and of course i'll take them all under advisement. :)

Has anyone had Alcantara?

Hill hold is standard anyway. The option is hold assist and is nothing really to do with hills. It puts the parking brake on when you come to a stop, so you don't have to either keep your foot on the brake or apply the parking brake manually. It's great in traffic queues. I don't like it on all the time - it not too friendly when manouvering - but I know some leave it on.

Comfort pack I think is very good value for money.
