What have you done to your 8V today?

Yeah @Rob2k68 pick up is good, it also sounds a lot more throaty.

I'll see how things are with my de-cat fitment then I'll get a stage 2 still on the fence at the moment with who to go with.

Muffler delete I'm not so bother about as I've been told it's not really worth doing.

Heard that the DP is a bit of a pig and you need space under the car in which to manouvre it out so best to do on ramps. Any chance of a brief 'how to' on the I/C install or add to your post. Do you really need to take the lights out ?

Yeah it's all behind but it's not that bad really. Aircon need disconnecting aswell. Once it's all of you need to cut back the plastic in order of it to take the intercooler.

As for the down pipe I'm using some ramps somewhere so I'll get there eventually haha.

Added some led interior lights on the door pockets, still trying to figure out which pin on the door module so I can control via mmi instead of interior lighting dial.

Is it definitely the 308 he is after? I would be slightly more tempted by the smaller 208 GTi. Many years ago had a 206 GTi when they were first launched. Lots of issues with it, including a failed ECU and a windscreen that managed to come loose from the frame... both of these happened within months of owning.
After getting his monthly pcp quote from the garage it has put him off the 308 gti.
So he is after quotes on the 208 gti instead..

There's a 308Gti at work - it's red at the front and black at the back and the colours join across the back doors - what's that all about ? 208 looks the better package.

Ha Ha I know what you mean..
The one we looked at was white but it was having the back half wrapped in a metalic blue exactly as you described??
I do prefer the look of the 308 over the 208 but like I said earlier I wouldn't want to part with so much money on a Peugeot....Trying to persuade my brother this is proving very difficult lol

Is that not a 308 R...with the 2 tone paintwork with the same engine as the RCZR..... 270 bhp????

Yes same engine. I was told the R was a hybrid. The 270bhp engine driving the front and electric driving the back...Total bhp combined around the 500bhp mark? Hence it leaving the RS3 way behind on the drag strip.....But not on launch....lol

Just checked, it's defo a GTI - maybe the 'R' paint job is an option?

Yeah that's it mate although the black at the back at the back is gloss rather than matte - in fact the post office red is also more of a cherry red too LoL ..... I'll post a pic.

@Rob2k68 Glad you found the dogbone mount a worthwhile mod! Was worried about NVH issues but its negligible. Have you noticed any difference in engine/exhaust sound?

Yeah funny you should say that it does sound a good bit throatier. I'll have a play on the way home just for 'test purposes'. I may well now close my flaps (!) that I now have set permanently open using VCDS.

Try back seats down, boot floor lid removed (place on top of folded back seats) it makes a nice difference too - worth a try when you go for a detour to fetch the bread and milk :)

Won't get it on tonight but this just turned up Revo Turbo Muffler Delete. Looks nicely made! Heard mixed reports of the benefits of these so I'll give it a whirl and see what happens :-

What are the pro's and con's of these Rob?

Supposedly better air flow = more power at the expense of a little more noise. I think that's it in a nutshell mate.

Cheers..
Is this an easy bolt on mod or is there more involved ie the need for other parts etc..:friends:

It's a bolt on self contained mod mate bit like the turbo inlet pipe is - I'm hoping no more than half hour but some forums are saying 2 1/2 hours or so as you need to remove the air box and pipe work to get to the fixings but I'm hopeful that I'll get in there with an allen key.

Took out the guard thing in the bottom of the airbox today to see what difference just that makes (don't really want to do anything with the car unless it is reversible, just my personal opinion)

For anyone attempting it, grab the grill from the sides! Not the middle. Ha I initially grabbed it from the middle and snapped one of the little fins.

I'm really just expecting a bit of noise difference. It does seem like quite a restrictive part, then again I'm sure it was researched for hours probably when designed

EDIT: This was supposed to be in the specific thread for that mod, had a load of tabs open and posted here accidentally just because I saw that pipe mod. But I guess it fits well here too lol

I bet that's fun describing the colour it is to the insurance company, I can just imagine the phone conversation.

It's bad enough when asked about factory fitted options.
