Internal heating/cooling fan problem?

Im currently finding that my internal fan is cutting out & or sounding like its struggling to rotate (my air con & heating are fine)

Then sometimes, it runs perfectly in complete silence, as if there were never a problem :think:

Does anyone know why this would be or know how to rectify this please?

Im unsure how to get at the mechanism & wonder if its something I could sort myself?

Will it be expensive etc..

your motor bushes are on there way out mate there is a guy on ebay who sells them for about 20 pound a pair

brushes even, mine went last winter, was horrible and cold for a couple of days grrrrr

I bought a new fan for reliablity as i heard of people who changed the bushes and it failed again. the fan is about £92 of ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-AUDI-HEATE...46QQihZ002QQcategoryZ9889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
You just have to drop out the glove box. its quite tricky to get the fan out round the airbag. I had to losen some of the brackets off to get it out. bit of a pain to do.

if you email the guy he will give you a number where you can get the brushes

its not to hard to do them there are at the very end on both sides of the motor under a little clip
