Sold some stuff on ebay for £50, buyer paid by cheque then it bounced the day after I posted the stuff.

Guy now being a total **** keeps promising to sort it out but doesnt and has now stopped replying.

Any ideas to make his life an inconvenience for a bit?

did you get his address? i presume so if you have posted him the items! send him some ****, and i mean proper dog **** in the post, he wont know you have sent it and he will have a nice suprise when he opens that over breakfast:puke2:

personally id take matters into my own hands as nobody else will do anything or give a crap about it. Dont get mad, get even. Though you may still end up out of pocket, you will feel miles better, which is what counts. Pounce when he least expects is, and let the moral of the story be, allways let funds fully clear before sending items off...a lesson learnt.

As above..........have you given feedback yet?

Post his e-mail address to every porn site on the net

would not give up as £50 is £50 would have e-mail made up to send everyday

Have you got his ebay name as we could have a laugh regarding any sales he has

I hate people like this

I feel for you mate, that's happened a few times to me but it's where i've ordered something in specially for a customer then payment doesn't clear or the customer seems to fall of the face of the planet and i'm sure it will keep happening. Hope you get it sorted because even thought it's a small amount, £50 is still £50! Good luck dude!

You're just gonna have to send pizzas, taxis, hookers etc relentlessly to his home address til he coughs up.

Order three tons of Manure to his house, instructing them to leave it on his driveway as you'll be out all day at work, pay cash for it only, can't be traced.. he'll get the message as he's shoveling...:sly: ;) :icon_thumright:

Did he send a paper cheque?
In future only accept paypal or echeque (or cash!) that way you have some recourse, or go to the police and say you have been a victim of fraud, if someone pays with a cheque with no intention of honoring it then that is fraud. Get a solicitors letter sent to him saying you are going to take him to small claims court, this mostly works.

You can start this claim yourself without involving the solicitors or the courts, go to www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and have a look there, you can get a judgement without any court involvement.

well he was a forum member (not this one) and Id spoke to him on the phone a few times so he wasnt a random.

You lot should know better than suggesting dropping **** on this guy, thats highly unlikely to work now is it!?

Neither is going to his house and giving him a dig, the guy might be huge and end up doing you in, take it to the authorities and do it properly.

As stated, proper channels are obviously the safest and soundest way to go; and if you do decide to handle it yourself, don't be posting on any boards what you've settled on as a plan...

The manure idea might well be a winner though... Given the nature of the trade most of my employers have come under fire from fraudsters pretty much constantly. Hearing about various attempts has amused me greatly, some people are really clever, and thanfully even more are shockingly dumb - and the latter can really cheer up a slow day. One employer got his retribution with horse manure on a particularly cheeky fraudster who'd put not a lot of effort into his scam, but phoned every day for about a week chasing his order of 40 processors worth a total of £20,000. Nobody ever gave the impression they were on to him, and on the last day he was cheerfully informed that his goods were en-route; when in actual fact we'd arranged with the courier for them to deliver a pallet of horse manure cleverly disguised in the right boxes as said processors. One thing I did think though was whether or not it would deter him from trying it again on someone else, or indeed if it would more so than going through official channels and having him endure a brush with the law...

Anyway, whatever you decide to do, I hope the trickster gets his just desserts. I try to keep to PayPal and cash only, and ALWAYS have good proof of postage (right down to photos of the item/package on occassion) - you can never cover your back enough when larger sums are concerned!

Regards,

Rob.
