Do you still have the stock Diverter Valve? It's pretty well known that these are prone to failure even in stock tune. They are made from pretty flimsy plastic and should be treated as a consumable once you start upping boost. You can easily check by removing the DV and inspecting it.

You can upgrade to the 'G' revision which is somewhere around the £50 mark from the main stealer. Part number is 06F145710G if google is to be believed.

There are also other upgrade alternatives like the Forge units and the GFB DV+ if you're willing to spend a little more.

Another thing is the PCV which is also prone to failure which can cause the turbo to overspeed. You can up grade that to the 'R' revision -06F129101R- for about £30 from the stealers. There are other aftermarket solutions but usually require the fitting of a catch can. No bad thing really as reducing or even completely removing the stock breather system does wonders as it helps reduce the awful coking issues these engines have.

Thanks crypticS3 alot off solutions there. There code reader bings up T R V cheers

Hmmm. Don't think my morning coffee had quite kicked in. Just realised I've given you a bunch of stuff relating to the S3 8P. I see you have the A3. Is that the 2.0 TFSI with the KO3 turbo?

Going to do some digging as I might have given you a bum load of misinformation. -Note to Self- No internet before 2nd Coffee :flushed:

Ok after some rushed googling I believe the engine is the same basic layout if it is the 2.0 TFSI KO3 (I'm new to Audi so all my knowledge is based on my S3, apologies) so I believe the things I've listed above are shared between the 2 engines. With any luck a resident expert will come along and Confirm or give me grief for being a useless t**t.

What years your S3 lets have a look at some pics . My engine bay and 2.0T Sline Quattro

Yeah that bay is pretty identical to the S3's. S3 just having a bigger turbo and engine components uprated to suit. I did some more looking after my last post and I'm pretty confident that the info I gave above is fine and the components are shared. Just your Diverter valve is a bitch to get to as it's under the car below the turbo I believe unlike the S3 where it's up at the front of the engine.

EDIT - My S3 is 2007, the 8P S3 was released in 2006.

Thanks again for your time and effort

On the S3, the diverter valve for the K04 turbo is at the front of the engine.
Your car has the K03s turbo and the diverter valve is located on the turbo and so is harder to change. Search on here for guides of how to change the diverter valve.

Thanks prt57
