Been looking at multiple companies which software and hardware fully in house (some did not come accross well and left huge doubt in my mind!) and this company seem to have very good reviews, spoke to them on the phone and they knew what i wanted and didnt come accross as butt holes :)
so booked MJ in for next Thursday!

Very excited, pictures and videos to follow next week :D :D :D

They should be toning down the torque as she is on her original clutch at 117k so dont fancy forking a new one in 6k. Also dont fancy a smokey map which i will make clear when i go in, she isnt for race tracking :)

Ah man I completely forgot about you being so close. shame.

I was looking in southampton, but I had doubt in the people i spoke to on the phone and their knowledge, and i gave up on the local thing after one strange call they asked me to do some marketing to target more woman, was a very unusual call, I only want a good job done so moved on.
Spoke to Narco on the off chance, felt much more confidence in them from the call, and they have offered a cracking deal which takes the burn off the 2 hour drive there for me :)

Lol , where to for dpf and remap , egr out also ?

All in house and they customise their own maps, not third party, she has some miles on so imagine any maps will need some tweaking to account for warn parts.
They are gutting the DPF, they said they had done a few from the top by removing the EGR and cooler for access as it is not an easy location on the a4.
I am keeping the EGR but it will be mapped out rather than any hard deletes as I dont want to mess with any of the cooling system if possible.

Hi Amanda where are these guys based? As I m interested in the same thing as you dpf/egr off +stage one and I culdn t find anyone serious around SW of London. It'll go like a rocket :yahoo:

I am soooo friggin excited :D :D
i phoned my insurance to add it, my renewal last week i did 2 quotes, one with it all on, and one wihtout and settled with the without price for £55 less as i wasnt sure when i would book it. Phoned up to ask if they could swap it to the with quote and pay the difference as I am in the cooling off period, and because of some mistake on the system the mods got added in the quote, but not removed when i renewed, so it is already covered and i dont need to pay any more :D YAY

they still have my car, they broke the studs off the manifold, didnt have the tools to tap it out, broke my egt sensor to get the manifold out.. now want me to pay for the things they broke....

I have no idea what to do now, i have to pay for egt and new gasket on top of what they said for the work.
phoned again told them audi tps public price is 114+ vat rather than the 130+ vat of their TRADE price, eventually said it is 126 inc vat, i dont want to be that customer but i feel messed about peeved on the 'trade' pricing. Do i have any right to say ' no you broke it, you pay'?

Every right .

What with Facebook and ASN their whole reputation is on the line .

Who is telling you this , Adam Barker or Gordon Townsend ?

Think they may be taking NARCOtics .

I am not sure which one I am talking to on the phone tbh, possibly Adam but I cant say. Waiting for my full price inc vat to come through from them.

Can't think of any other work where they break it and want you to pay for it. I personally would be kicking right off.

I know your in a tricky position but you didn't break it, it was fine when it went in. They have broken parts whilst working on your car, imo it's the same as if they dented it or scratched it, would they expect you to pay to sort that?

The thing is it's eating into their profits which is why they want you to pay.

Oh dear that's not good to hear!! Hopefully they see sense and pay for the cost and sort everything for you!! Just dropped mine off so hopefully I get some better luck

original quote was £400+ VAT, i fully understand things dont go to plan, and things may be broken, but these things wasnt broken before :( After they had the bolts snapped they phoned to tell me they have to brake the egt sensor because it is seized and in their way..
Such a crap situation

£638.40!!!!
What was the original price? I'd be tempted to say it's fine leave it put it back to the condition it was in when dropped off. Which we know they can't without replacing parts.

I'd never ever (I know easy to say when not my car) pay for broken parts.

So the egt was seized? Couldn't drill bolts then easy out them?

They had to send it to an engineering place that owed htem a favour because they couldnt do it.

Oh dear. If I was you I'd at the most pay half for the new part.

I really hope the end product is good and worth it. I am not writing them off, but it hasnt been the easy one day job expected lol
Poor guys must hate my car right now

they still have time to sort it out and make this better, gonna talk to them about price considering i had to fuel their petrol car just to get around, things that broke was things not broken when it went in, and obviously the 5 days over the original time :p

Bit of a tricky one really isn't it, pretty sure if studs snap and things take longer any garage will charge you the extra labour needed to put things right, this happened to me on my B6 with my pinch bolts being seized both sides so the original quote for installing springs was at least doubled. Again with the egt sensor, maybe they should have called you before breaking it to explain its seized and asked you if you wanted them to go ahead with the work. Things never seem to go to plan with cars and extra unforeseens always seem to crop up and throw a spanner in. At least you get a new egt sensor out of it and it's 1 less thing to go bad down the road!

It's a fair point Ryan's made about extra labour time and I was also thinking the same about the egt sensor (should of rang you)

Push for a bit more off worth a try.

She is all up and running, they are mapping now.. fingers crossed. Just waiting for more updates.
Just to clarify they broke the egr after calling me to tell me they had no choice, and the car was not drieable unless they broke it to get to the broken studs in the manifold, I was concerned with the trade tps price they quoted that was more than audi direct, but after a few calls with them the price changed to a few pound less than Audi.
as long as she is done well will pay it all as it has prob been a pain for them having it sat unable to move since Thursday, turbo sat out on the side

Studs broken on exhausts is a fairly common occurence and should be factored into the price they quote. Having to break a sensor because they couldn't get it out is their issue. The cost of the EGT sensor should have come out of their pockets not yours.
