Managed to jump in on Trups GB for some LED indicator bulbs.....had a few spare moment this afternoon so had a go........

Anyone got any tips?? I can get some leverage on the clip but not enough to release it and my fingers don't bend in unnatural ways!!

Any advice appreciated. Ideally I don't want to be removing the bumper to remove the headlight!

Thanks :)

Rhys, try asking @jojo im not sure if he has the same car though

He has bought the same bulbs as me so I'm
A) hoping he has fitted them already
B) sees this and reveals his secrets

Lol!
That's what I was thinking to help you out. :)

I can get to the holder, but I don't know how to undo it. The angle of it means I can't see how it's clipped on and I can get any strength to the tabs to pull it out! Head lamp out job it's looking like.

That's the exact position I'm in.

There appears to be a push down type clip on the top of the connector

I can get a tool to push down on the clip but i then can't get enough purchase on the holder to pull it out :(

Yup, that's what I'm feeling as well. I have some plans to tint the headlamps, so will do it at the same time next week.

And now the original bulb doesnt work

Yes the original bulb doesn't work because i took the bulb out of the holder. I was unaware that the bulb and holder are all in one :(

Bloke in Halfords thought I had a spaceship in my hand when I tried to get a replacement this morning; apparently he has NEVER seen a bulb like it..............

I changed the standard bulbs for the group buy LED bulbs (I got the correct fit second time round) and it is certainly one of the more frustrating tasks. The access is extremely limited, and a small wrench certainly comes in handy to get enough grip to twist the bulb (normal clockwise to tighten) for the very small angle that is needed to fix it. Not 1/4 turn, rather 1/8 turn or even less.

I removed and installed the bulb with the bulbholder and grey wireplug all in place, makes it easier to manhandle the whole thing, no risk of the bulb falling into the depth of the headlamp assembly and the grey wire plug makes it a lot easier to get a grip on the whole damn thing.

Once fitted, however, very pleased with the result!

Don't know if this photo helps, but the bulb holder and grey wireplug cannot be pulled out, it has to be twisted (as above, a very small movement is needed) counter clockwise.

Great info and pics @rassi

Amazingly the instructions are in the manual and I worked out you neede to twist the holder but hadn't thought of using a small spanner!!

My hands are battered and bruised lol
