Hi guys, my dads Q5 keeps cutting out and losing all power while driving. This can happen at any time without any warning, can be very dangerous depending on where you are its a 2.0tdi on a 2015 plate.

Has anyone had the same problems? Audi can't find or fix the problem :(

Thanks for any help, Karl.

Hi Karl

I bought a new Q5 (66 plate), collected it on 4th Nov and it first cut out 2 days later and within a week it had cut out 4 times. Needless to say I have sent the car back to Audi and am waiting for a new replacement - in discussions with Audi !!! Technicians have looked at it and say they cannot find anything wrong but this is a very dangerous intermittent problem which I am not going to risk mine and my families lives with.

I have found on the internet forums there has been problems as follows - the clutch pack can be slow to disengage and load up the flywheel allowing the car to stall or cut out when the clutch is pushed in fully.

Think I might cancel Audi order and go for a BMW X4 instead if Audi don't do the right thing and stop messing me around.

Hope the problem with your dad's car is fixed.
Karen

Not many Q5 and SQ5 owners on this forum so you might be better off joining the myaudiq5.com forum to receive more feedback on your problem. Hope you manage to get it resolved - they are a lovely car.

Hi thanks for the reply, could you let me know the garage you are dealing with?

Thanks again, Karl.

Any lights come on when this happens. I.e. Piggy tail one on the dash?

I'm tempted to say suspect crank position sensor could cause this. Then sort itself. Then happen again. Very annoying but Audi centre should sort under warranty. Just have to let them run through the tests and motions I'm afraid. Make sure you abuse the loan car to make up for it :)
