Facelift THE NEW AUDI A3 (2016 FACELIFT) – STILL AHEAD OF THE CURVE

Take a quote from Drive The Deal or Carwow along, DTD will be quicker

Bargaining power.

They're brokers. I won't go into the whole details, you can google it if you wish, but basically you can order a car through DTD, they put you in touch with a dealer of their choice and you get a decent discount percentage. But dealers will often match this price themselves or come very close to it to gain the business.

Slightly off topic...does anyone have a PDF file for the virtual cockpit owners manual??

Hi guys,

I've been wanting an Audi A3 S Line for the past 2 years so you can imagine the research i've been doing...now my time has finally come after a long time convincing my other half and also getting a few big outlays out the way like a wedding!

On our car search we first went to the VW to check out the GTD as on paper it has more included. I got quoted with a £1k deposit & 10k p.a mileage for a used 2014 GTD with 9k on the clock £349 a month. Pretty high. He also said it would be more for a new GTD so we didn't bother. Instead the mrs was drawn to the new tiguan which we both liked with it's attractive design & angular shape. It was working out at £315 per month for a SE trim with parking sensors. However realistically the tiguan is too big for our current needs.

Tempted by the deal i said let's wait and see how it compares to the new A3 S Line which I hadn't had the opportunity to view. Audi Edinburgh had a platinum event on this weekend with deposit contributions so it was really busy when we arrived. That gave us time to have a look at the interior and exterior of the A3 S Line which straight away we both agreed this is the one we want. The interior is much nicer than the GTD & the rear bumper makes it look sportier than than the pre-facelift model. What also got me excited is the sweeping indicators which come as standard. Other things such as MMI navigation and the apple car play make it a winner for us.

Our finance quote for a 1.4TFSI 150PS with parking sensors, a £1k deposit and 10k mileage p.a & a £900 deposit contribution over 49 months would be £328. Though I didn't haggle so wondering (having never bought a new car before) if I'm able to? If so can anyone give me advice how to go about it or what I should ask to get thrown in?

Here are some pics of the white A3 1.4TFSI 150PS S Line which we test drove (very quick compared to our VW Golf MK4 1.9 SDI !)

& the cosmic blue (which we're likely to go for) which has a lovely dark blue almost green tint which shows up really nice in the sun:

You're not doing it right. Audi's events are just a way to make customers believe they're getting a good deal... And they want to shift cars and not necessarily at a good price for you!

First you on go to http:://www.audi.co.uk and spec the car you'd like. Save the config at the end generate an Audi Code. You can then communicate this Audi Code to brokers so they can get the specs without mistakes (brokers websites are not always accurate with regards to options available/prices).
You can then spec your car on brokers websites and get quotes from:
Carfile (http://www.carfile.net)
Carwow (https://www.carwow.co.uk)
Orange Wheels (https://www.orangewheels.co.uk)
DTD (Drive The Deal) (http://drivethedeal.com)
Note: There might be others I don't know.
Now you have an idea of the discounts you can get and you can work out your target price.
Whether you use a broker at the end or decide to go head first to an Audi dealership and be eaten by the wolves it's your call but at least you can make your decision knowing all the facts.
When you go via a broker you may have to go get your car from an Audi dealership that may or may not be convenient to you.
At least you can go to your local dealer with online brokers quotes and ask them if they want to match to get your business. Maybe you won't get the same discounts because you'd rather buy local because it's more convenient and you accept a lesser discount (it's up to you). Also don't get suckered into Audi giving you some paint protection products or what not in lieu of a discount. It's crap they get for a fiver they'd like to sell you for £££s
Hope it helps a bit!

Anyone's got a good picture of the FL interior rear view mirror? Looks like a new borderless design mirror, does it have auto dimming?

Interesting £299...I'll get in touch with them tomorrow and see what i can do.

I like both the white and blue. I understand what you're saying about being a nightmare to clean. Need to sleep on it!

Definitely try Carwow, Drive the deal and Orange wheels. I ordered mine through drive the deal and I'm collecting it on Saturday 3rd...

£3000 down
£1000 deposit contribution
£305 per month

S Line Sportback 1.4 150PS CoD
Daytona
Advanced Tech pack
Sound and comfort pack
Parking system plus
Advanced key
Folding mirrors
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
High beam assist
Hill hold assist

Can't fault the service I have had either.. Very very good, once you have agreed the initial purchase with either DTD or OW you then deal direct with the dealer - they have no further involvement...

That's a good amount for £305 per month! I'm interested to wait on the dealers responses...

Yeah, I went OTT on the options list but couldn't help myself haha. I am having to travel 3 hours to collect the car but I'm making a weekend of it and in the end I think the ROTR was £32,750 and I got the car for a little over £27,000....

When it comes down to it the ROTR figure is just a figure put in the price list to make people think they are getting a discount, as that seem to be the most important part of buying a new car these days. Nobody actually pays the ROTR figure, which is just an inflated figure to allow for discounts.

You're absolutely right except Audi dealers will try to sell the cars at that ROTR to people!

I'm getting mine (signature) with Carfile who deals with Audi Coventry so a 2-3h trip to go get my car but with 14% discount I don't care! :)

I've known my dealer and the same sales man since my first A3 in 1998 so I don't think he would try that on with me. When I spoke to him the other day he said he was the one at their dealership that dealt with Carwow and DTD etc and said he would always give me at least the same discount as well as a good trade-in on my current car. He likes having my trade-in because it sells very quickly because it has good options and is in excellent condition.

All I have to do is decide on the model - 184TDI and 190TFSI. Waiting for the new 184 to be available so that I can have a test drive in both to compare

Hey @SpeedyFrog, I think I am just about to order through CarFile now. Does their figure include an Audi deposit contribution or could I anticipate that being added on when I get put in touch with the dealer? Currently quoting me about 12.7% on the S3 Saloon.

It's great you have that relationship but to be fair most people don't for various reasons!
I've never had 2 cars of the same manufacturer in a row and even going back to a dealership I had business with in the past and all faces were new so I have to find another way to get a discount that makes me feel I'm getting a slightly better deal! I'm under no illusion I'm getting shafted one way or another... on the PCP interests to start with...

On top of the discount given which included £500 dealer contrib I got another £500 for taking a PCP. This is for a S3 Sportback. Might be slightly different for a Saloon knowing the PCP % is 5.6 I think when it's 6.7% for the sportback...

Thanks mate. Audi Finance website says S3 Saloon is 5.6% APR with £650 dealer deposit contribution, can't see anything extra for taking a PCP. Did they put that straight on there or did you have to ask for it? Will they try and add on paint protection and gap insurance like the dealer normally does? Your delivery date must be getting close now!

It was crystal clear. £500 extra if PCP. Nothing's added. It's a no bulls*** deal. Couldn't be happier. It works for me. Hopefully couple of weeks before pick up at Audi Coventry

You might not get the £650 contribution unless you take out the pcp.

Alternative is to take out the pcp and then pay it off immediately after you collect the car.

What about these then?

Who buys this stuff??????

These are a personal favourite... Can find any that are size specific to an A3 though, just universal sizes :disappointed:
