Thinking of getting a A4 around 2010 model soon. Which engine is considered to be reliable either in diesel or petrol.

I was thinking of a 2.0 diesel. I know that on the B7 2.0 tdi they suffered from oil pump failures. Was there any of those problems on the B8 ?

Any other major problems on these cars or having had recalls on ?

Might as well buy a Toyota if reliability is your concern... Modern cars have loads of issues...

I had a good experience with my 2011 B8 A4 2.0TDi 170. I bought it on 90K miles and ran it up to 177K in 18 months, still going strong and has been serviced roughly each 20,000 miles. Nothing none-routine has had to be done to it.

I have 2x b8 Audi a4 2.0 tdi in the garage, both with balancer shaft issues and a 60 plate 3.0 tdi with stretched chain and worn guides... I will take a b6 a4 1.9 tdi any day of the week over a modern Audi...

Mine will be available for sale soon, maybe it's a special one
