And Nico got a tow from the Ferrari in front of him as well. Double whammy! You'd not expect Alonso to drop it either. Hopefully, Lewis gets the jump at lights out and keeps his momentum going.

I particularly like Susie Wolff in close fitting white trousers .

That would just spoil the race. Entertaining for non Hamilton/Rosberg fans but not great for us Lewis fans. Hoping Vettel can do something this race. He's been too quiet.

Pretty much a year since they turned off Jules`s Life support and still a driver pushing under double waved yellow flags, how can you have sympathy when things do go wrong . . .much like America and guns atm,

Lewis for the win and the Redbulls 2nd & 3rd to rub Nico`s nose in it.

Yes flash backs of Jules fatal incident when in Q1 under a red flag Ericsson's Sauber was being recovered by a CAT tractor .

I was thinking the same @Gazwould and @Bugeye_bob

They do now bring out the Red Flags much faster. You could see the look on Lewis' face as he knew he would have been faster that lap if Alonso hadn't spun. The last person you'd think would spin out in front of you would be Alonso. Pity he just didn't stay put till the other 8 cars had gone past. Hopefully a dry race, however, you kinda want it to be wet as the German moaner can't drive in the wet or damp!

Actually watched Jules crash again yesterday for the first time in ages. It definitely was a blink and you'll miss it. In today's F1 that race would have been Red Flagged or VSC or full SC and saved a fantastic young mans life. Pity it takes a death for them to waken up to the fact that what they were doing was above and beyond the cars capabilities. Two feet to the right and he'd still be here today.

Great start from Lewis. And he's edging out in front. Fair play to Rosberg for getting bank past Ricarrdo. Ricarrdo tends to be a little more defensive than that.

Nothing to worry about, Lewis WILL overtake Nico on track, so be worth watching! Lol :D

What did I tell you! :D:racer::D

Rosberg's racecraft has improved since Lewis has been his team mate. Good to at least see him trying!

Whoever wins the championship this year is worthy in my opinion.

The interview with Martin Brundle and Nico on SkyF1 before the race was very insightful. Nico practically admitting that in the same car he wouldn't win the WC against Lewis. Or did I read what he was saying wrong?
Nice to see the two RBs up the front again. But what's happened to Ferrari??

Yeah, Nico finally admitted (albeit in a convoluted way) what we've all been knowing from the whistle: that with Lewis in that Merc on his best day, the only people who can beat him if they too were in the Merc are Vettel and maybe Fernando.

With a 25-30% chance of rain tomorrow in the race with the potential for safety cars this should give Hamilton a great chance of making up quite a few places. If there's no safety car I can't see him getting to the podium. I can see Verstappen being in the lead going up the Kemmel straight on the first lap with his tyre advantage but If Rosberg is running second I wouldn't be surprised to see him dragging past the Red Bull.
It may have the race starting on wets which would negate the tyre differences that exist ATM.
Good points for me so far in the Fantasy F1 as I have the first 3 drivers in my team. Hopefully Wehrlein and Grosjean will pick up some places in the race .

Don't think Lewis is looking for a blistering start, just a safe one.
May see him start from pit lane and pick them off down the kemmel straight. :)

All Lewis has done this weekend is set his car up for the race and overtaking,
top ten could be a challenge if the tyre pressures stay where they are or they may need to do an extra stop if he chews up his tyres getting to the front pack.

Nico is going to win tomorrow. I get full points and get off the bottom of the table. I hope it rains as well. Can't beat spa in the wet, it's game on. :)

Purely from a selfish perspective for my fantasy F1 team I hope Raikkonen has a nightmare!!

In all seriousness though, would be great to see someone other than Mercedes win it tomorrow...

Hamilton up to 5th by lap 10,
Who saw that coming?

Nico may have penalty for being underweight, I think he may have lost a stone hearing Hamilton up to 5th by lap 10!!!

I always thought Hamilton had a chance of making the podium if there was a safety car. The red flag certainly helped and the coming together in the first corner of the 2 red cars and Verstappen made it so much easier for him.
I think the only chance Rosberg has of winning the championship relies on Hamilton having more bad luck as he had at the start of the season or other drivers such as the Red Bull / Ferrari coming together with Hamilton in the races.

That was the luckiest race iv seen Lewis have, but It was just good to see him taking his time not rushing to overtake.
Was an enjoyable race to watch.

What you think about Max Verstappens driving this weekend?
Was the first corner coming together his fault...
And what about his movements on kemel straight?

Personally think he is an arrogant kid who got his adult toys too early. He might be a good driver but it is always someone else's fault and he thinks he is allowed to do anything he want. I'm not the biggest fan, and hard to blame Raikkonen not being one either. Reminds me of Hamilton in 2007.

I agree.
Short of Lewis having a catastrophic 2nd half to the season, there is not an ice-cubes chance in hell that Nico wins this.

I agree with slepy. The miss is talented, but he's also a bit of a k*ob. There's a small difference between the arrogance that every championship athlete needs and obnoxiousness. Max, is fully just obnoxious.
Like Kimi said: it's gonna take Max having a major accident to maybe wake up to the danger he is.

I think Max is carrying over some of the tactics that made him so good in the few years he raced in junior categories and attracted attention to him in the first place. He had to get his elbows out on the straights otherwise he would have easily been overtaken just because the Renault engine is week. Rosberg was a lot worse when he chopped off Hamilton at the beginning of the Spanish GP and they both ended up in the gravel.
If Vesrtappen had done anything dodgy the stewards would have investigated it.
He is not a gentlemen driver, very few gentlemen drivers ever became world champions, look at Prost, Senna , Schumacher and what they used to do. He is is the same mould.
