Hi All,

I fitted the Forge PCV Plate kit yesterday, this was straight forward and easy to do in 5 minutes no problem (£90 seems excessive for what it is if I'm being honest).

Car started fine, idled fine and drove to work fine. Same again on the way home later. Girlfriends car broke down so had to go pick her up, again everything was fine on the way there and back.

Pulled up at home of which the car then started to idle hunt and I could hear a rattle coming from under the bonnet, popped the hood and I located the noise coming from the intake manifold where the OEM PCV pipe connects to. Turned the engine off to inspect of which I found the problem straight away, one of the 3 screws which you put in the blanking cap had disappeared!! Dafuq is that about? When I screwed them in they all had about 2/3 of the thread screwed in with only a 1/3 exposed as I was weary of them potentially falling in after driving.

I want it removed asap but am not capable of doing this myself, what kind of damage can/has it cause(d)? I most likely need a new intake manifold anyway due to a separate issue but can it get sucked anywhere else? I was driving for 40 minutes on the last journey so it got sucked in during then, suprised it hasn't gone any further (unless it can't but I've got no mechanical knowledge).

Anybody else has this problem as it's BS that this could happen. The other two screws are still in the same position, one has a little bit of play in it but doesn't fall down, the other is fine however I have put the old PCV back on for now.

Thanks.

In sure I only paid £76 for my one, the screws can't go into the manifold only fall out, they do have loctite on tho. Did you check they were all tight first?

Just checked and I paid £83, still the most expensive small bit of metal I've ever bought!

That's good to know that it can't get into the Manifold, will it do any damage where it is at the moment?

I screwed them in all the same, first time I've seen this kit first hand but they all seemed fine and not like it was possible that any could just fall out. It took over an hour and a half's worth of driving for it to happen.

You are right it is a lot of money for just a plate and it doesn't even sit tidy at all, almost needs another screw or two to push it all tight, you have spare blanking screws that come with it I think. I'll prob check mine are all tight when I swap one out for an outlet for the powervalve

That is some rotten luck mate. They all should have locktite on them, if not, then you should put some on all of them before installing again. I've got a couple of unused Forge boost taps lying around, which should be using the same screws - happy to let you have one of the screws if you still need one.

You are right though, pretty pricey piece of CNC metal :)
