2 litre tfsi 190 PS s tronic Avant s line in floret silver. It's actually a stock vehicle so I shall take delivery on 1 September. Floret wouldn't have been my first choice of colour, but in order to avoid the wait for a factory order I'm happy to settle for silver. With privacy glass it looks good, as you will see when I post photos.

I managed to get a 2 litre petrol s tronic to test drive. I was very impressed with how it just glides along very quietly. I'm ...erm... not as young as I was so noise level and ease of driving are important. On the other hand I'm not too old to enjoy a burst of speed now and then and this engine can certainly oblige on that score.

It so happens that the test drive car was floret silver. It was a very bright sunny day and as we walked up to it I thought it was a pale metallic blue. It was only when I got out at the end of the test drive I noticed it was actually silver, so I like the blue tinge. I've seen others comment on that aspect.

So I shall be graduating from the A3 forum to the A4 equivalent. As the B9 is so new there aren't that many contributors yet, but as more buyers emerge it will be interesting to compare notes and read about their experiences.

I wish I only had a 2 week wait when I ordered mine... Congratulations on the order, sounds like it will be a lovely car!

Congrats on the car. I wanted mine in Floret but it would of meant a factory order and the wait that goes with it. Ended up in a stock car like you but in Daytona. Looking forward to the pics.

Bit of a hiccup a couple of days ago. I reported on another thread that the sales guy rang me to say that the dealer who currently has my new vehicle is undergoing some sort of inspection which means a freeze on all stock movements for a few days. Could affect the anticipated handover date of 1 September, but I'm not to worry unduly and my sales guy will do all he can to ensure that blah blah blah.

Sales guy rang again today. They have a transporter or something in the area where my new car is on Tuesday so he will get the guy to bring my car down to my local dealer. If my dealer can get it registered on Tuesday, I am to drop in and pay for it on Wednesday - and I can also take a sneak preview before I pick it up on Thursday. We're not home and dry yet, but I'm more optimistic than I was this morning.

Electing for a stock vehicle gets you your car more quickly than a factory order, but it doesn't necessarily make the target handover date any more secure. My current car was at Aberdeen Audi (I'm in Hampshire) and in theory it should have been possible to send it down once the dealers had done whatever they have to do to effect the transfer. However, the car was in Aberdeen Audi's showroom and was booked to be on display for a further week or so, so we had to sit it out while that period elapsed. And I was imagining all the people clambering all over it when it was a sold vehicle. When it arrived, it was actually in mint condition; as it was a showroom vehicle I wondered if Aberdeen Audi had done a bit of detailing to show it off to its best advantage.

Pics ???

I can only supply pics of my current car, an 8V A3. I haven't yet taken delivery of the A4.

Get them pics up as soon as you can.

I'm looking to get a test drive in the 190 TFSI tomorrow if possible. I was hoping to look at some Quattro's but I'll give this one a shot.

I'll be interested to know how you find the 190 tfsi. I suspect we have different expectations of it, given that you're coming from an S3 whilst I am coming from an A3. All I can say is I loved it.

Glad to hear it's still on track. My car was from stock from a different franchise, which was funny enough Aberdeen Audi. My sales guy said what they do is offer the dealership one of their stock vehicle as a trade, which get transferred on the Audi system when agreed. Nine times out of 10 they agree.

Only difference with mine was it wasn't a showroom car, but instead a stock car in their compound. I ordered mine on a Friday got confirmation on Monday that they agreed to trade, and I picked it up on the Sunday that week.

Anyway glad to see it's still on track for 1st and look forward to the pics ;)

Hopefully I'll know tomorrow.
My only real concern is how it puts down the power in the wet.

Just got the phone call to say that the transfer is going ahead today, which means that we're on for the handover on Thursday. I've been asked to drop in and pay for it tomorrow, so while I'm there I shall have a sneak preview and should be able to post a few pics on my return.

2 more sleeps...

Well I went along and paid for the car today and took a look at it. Here's a photo, as promised, but you can't see much of it as it has yet to be plated and prep'd. Anyway, tomorrow is the big day, so more revealing pics when I can force myself to take a rest from driving it!
