I've just coded in AUX functionality into my RNSE MK1 sw v550 and connected the relevant plug\cable I purchased from ebay, coding update has been accepted for the Navigation module (37) but I still do not see the AUX functionality on the RNSE

I removed the analogue TV last year but didnt code it out so I thought it might be that as they both use the same input as way of the locking plug on the back but still no diff. Tried playing about with other valid codes but still nothing. Infact when I code out the CD changer as a test, that is still accepted as far as coding is concerned but the option is still visible to select 'CD' and I can select and play my CD's as normal. At a loss, anyone have any idea's what I might be missing?

a relatively straight forward task but i'm at a loss. I have not previously had any issues with coding, do you think this might be one for Ross Tech support or maybe my old RNSE is playing up? I appreciate this could be one of many things at fault like the cable i've purchase but I though if I code it in irrelevant of the presence of the cable input the option to select AUX would be visible once coded, correct?

Any help greatly appreciated

Hello buddy did ya reset the unit after the coding? Hold the radio and menu button I think it is, or enter 1 in adaption channel 111?

Yes I did try that several times but no joy unfortunately
Rest RNS - Press and hold down [RADIO] and [SETUP]

Not sure but thinking perhaps the Aux configuration is not compatible with either mk1 or sw version 550?? Might try to upgrade to 650 and try again

Wasnt aware of entering 1 in adaptive channel 111, might also try that, thank you

I have mk1 rns-e 550 and have aux in. Retro fitted and coded myself so it can be done.

I'll have a look at what it should be, and if you could provide a soft coding picture or scan would be good.

There is a lot with the adaption channels, you could have rs4 screen. I have s4. Channel 18 - 3 for rs4

Looking at that website you need to have 0xxxx5x, then reset. that should have aux input.

That's interesting - thank you for that, if you could let me know what it should be that would be fantastic
so to summarise no obvious reason why my AUX would not show as an option

Yes thank you, I updated my splash screen a couple of years ago to RS4 :)

Thats correct, i've coded mine to 0309153 but oddly no luck unfortunately, really do not know why it's not coding it correctly (or recognising the option of AUX)

Only other thing I notice, is that you're in navigation and not radio, I think k controller 47. I'm not sure it makes a difference, but maybe try in the radio controller.

Also the coding seems to be a bit out, can you post pic of the radio controller page? Just to see if they match or not.

Edit; 56 is radio.

So mine is 0413153 but it's a cab (and b6 but that shouldn't matter). I think yours would be 0311153. Try that coding in 37 navigation and 56 radio, then reboot and see what happens!

Edit, I just don't know what 9=sound system is for the characteristics, I've changed it to Audi a4 8E. See if you notice a difference and if you do change back if need be.

yes I noticed that too when I was following the example of coding AUX which was referencng module 37-Navigation. When that failed I also checked module 56-Radio and surprisingly (or maybe not) the change had also reflected to this module too...

Worth noting the original coding was 0309114 which I initially updated to 0309154 but that had no affect. Figuring it could be the coding of the TV tuner I uncoded (as they both use the same input) that ending up with 0309153

History...
0309114 (original)
0309154 (AUX added)
0309153 (TV-Tuner removed)

So mine is 0413153 but it's a cab (and b6 but that shouldn't matter). I think yours would be 0311153. Try that coding in 37 navigation and 56 radio, then reboot and see what happens!

2 things (hopefully someone can confirm this)...

I think 0xx?xxx : Sound Characteristics is to indicate a BOSE sound system which mine is, a 1 would indicate a standard non-bose system in an A4 - I have already tried this but made no difference unfortunately as far as recoding AUX is concerned

and

0x?xxxx : Treble speaker diagnostic which is set to '1' in yours I have no idea about unfortunately

I will try the coding you have specified and let you know, thanks

Sorry buddy you're right. I have Bose and it's not coded for Bose. Will go and change that now lol.

Found out from this site - http://audiforum.us/threads/vag-codes-for-rns-e.55/ - which also says that aux needs sw650. And come to think of it, mine is on 650, not 550. My apologise to you, as I've kinda lead you on.

Update to 650, then the aux should be there

thats fantastic thank you, at least now I know why it is not being recognised!! Now to update the software... no idea of where I would be able to get the software - have read it comes with the 2008 maps but does anyone know if just the software is available and if so from where?

The software comes on the maps, and should update automatically. Which map disc do you have?

My car came with a 2013 I think so I guess that's why I have the update, but I now have 2015 maps which I think aren't genuine. Would prefer genuine though.

I did do a quick search and the software could be downloaded (it is maps too) but personally I wouldn't trust it. Just get a maps CD from eBay, genuine if possible, and it should update. I've even got a spare 2015 disc if u wanted to send me a tenner?

Success, found software update and updated to 650 and AUX appeared as a source! Matt youre a legend, thank you very much good sir for helping me out
For info i've just had a look and my navigation CD is 2007, I might just take you up on that offer but first i'm going to investigate the possibility of 7 digit postcode entry into the RNSE... I assumed it was not possible but i've come across a few interesting articles which mention it may just be possible and individuals have confirmed this, will keep you informed
Once again thank you for helping me resolve this, absolutely awesome

Sure thing. Mine does have speed cams, they come up on the screen.

Glad it is working. How did you update it out of interest?

found a rar file which includes 650 and 660 updates (not fully sure what 660 includes, think it's a hacked unofficial version), burned 650 files to CD not expecting it to work, inserted into RNSE.. a minute of waiting and nothing, was just about to remove it when the update kicked in!

Ah nice. Didn't know if it would work but cool.

Anyway, good luck to you.

On a side note, my aux was really low, so i got a sound shocker pro, which really helped to get the best out of it.

Check to see if the audio level is low with your aux in first, and if you do need it, make sure it is the pro.

Pm sent.
I also have a 2007 s3 which I bought 2016 maps off eBay but dont think the software updated so sounds like I need it updated to enable aux.
