Hi All

I am looking to replace a 4 spoke steering wheel on a 2008 C6 Allroad with something newer and smaller. I'd like to use something like the C7 S-Line wheel - like in the link beneath.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A6-4...097968?hash=item1a163abd30:g:v7YAAOSwzJ5Xc4sj

Can anyone confirm whether this is a direct swap, and if not how much work is needed to fit? Will the airbag operate correctly? I also see what looks to be the same wheel for sale from A1/A3/A4/A5 models - are they all the same standard S-line wheel - same diameter and fitment, or are they different for each model. Which is best to go for? (I am not interested in a flat bottomed wheel as the Allroad isn't sporty enough to suit this).

Some knowledge would be excellent.

Thanks

C7 won't work as the airbag is a single stage & the C6 is a dual stage.

Thanks. Would one of the variants of this wheel from another model work?

You can use a dual stage same shape airbag from other chassis, A4/A5, it will remove any faults, just can't give you 100% guarantee it would go off, but there is no guarantee any would tbh.

Does anyone know if component protection would be a factor in replacing the steering wheel / airbag?

Thanks,

Hi NHN, thanks for the info. So actually best to buy an A4/A5 wheel of that style to get the correct airbag? Would that then be essentially a bolt on item? (I saw something about a slight tweak to the wiring connector).

Many Thanks
