I own an 2008 A3 8P with a 1.4tfsi (1.4tsi) engine, im wanting to add more modifications to the car and have been reading up on the common problems with the engine and was looking for some advice.

My engine code is CAXC

The main problems I'm worried about are:

- Camchain tensioner issue
- Crankcase breather pipes in relation to boost
- turbo seals when an aftermarket exhaust is installed

At the moment my camshaft adjuster is really noisy when starting cold, i believe this is due to the holes in the older ones being too small and get blocked untill oil pressure is high egnough creating the noise. Due to this I am planning on getting it replaced with the revised part to fix that problem and at the same time change the Camchain and adjuster to hopefully keep my safe from that issue.

With the Crankcase breather being in the intake manifold and also near the air filter, I read that if the car is changed in any way to run higher boost this can cause higher Crankcase pressure when the pressure is released by the turbo into the air filter side of the intake causing oil to flow up the other breather Ino the intake.
I hAve two idea in mind that may solve it but I'm not sure:

Remove the breather from the air filter side and give it its own small filter on the end

Or I heard about oil catchers or something but can't find anything else about them?

Lastly about the turbo seals, they are supposed to rely on backpressure in order to keep a good seal, with an after market exhaust especially with a decat, they say that the seal isn't as effective. Cambaines mentioned that I could get an exhaust that still retains some of the backpressure (no offence to him just wanting some others advice) and was wondering if this would work?

Any help/advice with the above would be greatly appreciated and thanks for reading!

Also heard there was a problem with cracked pistons after a remap, not sure if my engine suffers with this problem ?
