Whenever it's rained for the last few weeks I've had a puddle in my driver's side footwell, checked for blocked drainage holes etc but couldn't find anything, so ended up taking the car into Audi.

They checked it over and were confident that it related to a windscreen replacement I had over 6 months ago, they then did a water test for 2.5 hours but couldn't locate the source, ended up costing £300 with nothing actually being fixed…

Just wanted to check if anyone else had, had the same issue? and if so how did you resolve it? Car's starting to smell musty which is pretty horrid. Car is a 2013 A3 if it helps.

Forgot to mention, the water is dripping from the brake pedal, which suggest to me that it's somewhere in the engine bay area?

Will give the door seals a look, but guessing due to the drips from the pedal this is quite unlikely?

I had a similar problem with a previous car. It did end up being a windscreen replacement leaking. But it was not apparent. Still don't really know where it was getting in.
But as soon as the screen was replaced it was fine.
So worth referring to the windscreen company. If you can convincingly say that it started when the screen was replaced, so much the better.

Had a similar thing on my girlfriends car, it turned out to be blocked drainage in the lower bulkhead just above where the peddles are, the start of the route was at the absorbers where there were small drainage holes which allowed bigger items of crap to get down to the lower drainage, we took off a couple rubbery looking things which basically hold up all the crap allowing it to well up and cause water to run back down through the bulkhead....left the rubbery things out and its not happened again......no more wet feet for the Mrs!

Did you have to dismantle the dash to get to these? or through the wheel arch?

Audi were suggesting their next action was going to be looking at the air conditioner, but didn't really want to spend another £300 for them to fail once again…

I cant remember exactly but we didn't go through the inside of the car it was in the engine bay, took some plastics off and basically had a grope around...

the windscreen was fitted about 6 months ago, so i'm not 100% convinced it was this, the issue only seemed to start after my car was serviced at Audi… they've checked everything that would have changed with a service and couldn't find anything… but tbh after this i'm not convinced that they really know what they are doing!

Sounds like a poorly fitted screen with a gap in the adhesive.........
