VW Emission Scandal - Are we going to get Compensation

If there's no adverse affect, why didn't they just do it in the first place?

I'm pretty sure Dtuk is updates for life. Only pay postage bus as they are on my doorstep....

I had the mod done to my A4 2.0 TDi 150'2014 - I feel no difference to pre mod.

That's reassuring to know.

My car also had air con software update done. Did anybody else have their air con fix done? I wonder where it came from as my car was in for major service in Feb and air con was fine at this point.

Air con fix? What did they say that did?

There's a recall on your air con software so we'll do it along with emissions fix.

If Audi offered me compensation over this then I would only give them the money back towards another car anyway

If anyone knows where I could take my A4 2.0TDi 170 to test the power (ideally near Hull) I'd be happy to get a before and after graph.

Steve think someone had one done. Sure it's on this thread couple of pages back (page 7) before and after rolling road graphs.

I had a quick look at that, may be worth having multiple examples though? I'd be interested in seeing one for the 1.6 as the injectors are being replaced, not that it affects me, just interested.

Had my letter through this morning about getting the update done.

In 2 minds really. Seen the power comes in later and more harder and also kind of hoping it will fix the flat spots I get in sport mode between 2000-3000rpm. Asked a few people in the mapping business for their advice.

Had my letter for months Chris, still undecided what to do. Lad at work had his a5 done, no noticeable difference. 7week waiting list and a free wash pack apparently.

7 Weeks wait to flash a map on that takes 5 minutes

Kind of half wanted to back my current one up (which I now know hasnt been patched) incase the feel of the new one is poor.

When I was in asking about timing belt interval they said takes 1hr

I see.

Another thing I should really get sorted is the timing belt. Dont think its been done (or any paperwork for) since the car was made in 2012. Thats 4 years or 28.5k miles.

Cambelt: £455
Cambelt with waterpump: £599

Sure its more than the normal 4years/ 60k miles.

But at them prices. They can keep the work. The parts from TPS are about £125-250 including the pump!

Finally in from work mate (lost couple of pounds in sweat today) and there's another letter from dvla about update, saying why haven't you had it done basically. Going to look at booking it in now.

Had the emission software done on my Allroad. No noticible difference that I'm aware of. Also did air-con update. No idea what that's about? Came back to a car-care kit free-of-charge. I'm easily pleased.

Mines booked in for the 27th wait while it gets done.

Car care kit
I'm for the American style of gift aka loads of compo

Let us know how it goes Mark.

Not even fussed about a car care kit, Chances are the products will be no where near the quality of the ones we all use.

Why are the DVLA chasing this up ? It's not a legal requirement to let Audi 'fix' your diesel car is it ?

Not yet. Imo think they will eventually or maybe some sort of extra road tax if not done. First letter I had asked to have it done. Last one said I must have it done.

Erindoors a3 has had its recall letter (from DVLA) had one from audi saying they working on a fix, next one that came was the same as my last one "you must have this work done"

Just getting finished off. Choice of free gifts

Dust caps and cleaner etc.. Or car wash kit with bag, went for that (won't be using stuff on the car though)

Dust caps?

Iirc
Choices were

Audi dust caps, interior cleaner and a gecko thing

Audi dust caps, wheel cleaner and a gecko thing.

Car wash bag and stuff

Convertable roof cleaner and dust caps etc..

Kids toy thing.

Anti freeze, glass cleaner, wash a wax shampoo, plastic cleaner, polymer wax polish, insect remover, upholstery cleaner, microfiber cloth, 2 x sponges, and bottle spray gun.

Quick review can't notice any difference at all, maybe (don't know if it's just me) but maybe asking to change up a gear slightly earlier.

Forgot another option was a boot storage box.

I'd booked mine if for sit and wait. Apparently 40mins. But when I got there (1300) they said "your calling back at 1700"
Nope you've got an hour and I need to be on my way.

So (which I would of anyway) refused wash and vacuum
But they didn't get time to do the free health check, which is fine as I use a very good garage I trust.

Been thinking about just biting the bullet and getting the A5 done, an update after a week or so would be appreciated @feva & @Steveredman.

JG
Will do no worries. Been driving last hour mixed roads, appears fine, if I didn't know wouldn't think it had been done.
