So as some may know I have replaced half of my parking sensors so far as the oem ones are crap, this has so far cured my constant beep issue, the problem I have now though is the intermittent long beep issue I have when it rains.

Whenever there is heavy rainfall the parking sensors won't work, this normally happens first thing in the morning and come tea time they are fine after drying out.

Is this a common fault? I've done some googling and it seems to be common on seats and tbh the majority of car marques!

Not so sure regarding your specific fault diagnosis. However many years ago I replaced one faulty sensor on my car it cured the problem for two weeks until the next sensor failed so I just replaced them all to be done with. 3 years later no problems with them so maybe these sensors just tend to wear out (if that's even possible on a non moving part!) and generally start to fail at the same time?

Sounds like water is getting into a connector which then dries out & system is fine again, seen this before, you need to get to the looms to be sure.

I had a feeling it may be this. I know the back 4 sensors are fine as I've replaced then and the deals and looms seemed fine.

I have a feeling it's the fronts causing the issue.

Would VCDS show up the issue of water ingress/faulty wiring loom.

With the heavy rain and it been Sunday I finally managed to hook vcds upto the car while the parking sensors weren't working to see what fault code it brought up,

****** nothing, no code or anything.

So I went into the measuring blocks and got this, the first is without the parking sensors on and the second is with the sensors on, now I also did the clicking hearing test and the passenger side left one wasn't clicking but it wasn't throwing a code up

Well chaps still the same. Replaced all 4 rear ones so far, I've got front and rear so still have the fronts to do but so far when ever it rains I may as well just forget using them. Starting to really get to me.

Need to see if I can used vcds to measure each sensors performance as when they don't work they don't throw an error code which is really bizarre.

Check connectors for water ingress or its a sensor that's got water ingress, common.

Water is the problem its getting into the back...and our cars are around 10 years old...my 3rd brake light died after heavy rain then it worked again after another...parking sensors work from time to time and it also depends on the rain...Im from Zagreb we had extremly heavy rain yesterday and I have a feeling the sensors arent working and the 3rd light also...well see soon

So best thing to do is pull each sensor plug off and quick spray of wd40 into the connectors?

Just had my parking sensors play up a few days ago.

Orange flashing light on the dash button ans no display on the MMI. I sprayed the sensors with WD40 as some people had suggested (and which worked for them), but I've had no luck.

I bought the car second hand from a dealer and still have a month left on the warranty. The business is closed currently due to coronavirus, so hopefully they can fix this when they reopen.

B7 doesn't have mmi or pdc display, what year is your A4?
