My 2010 Audi A3 Sportback S-line Black Edition with some minor mods

Lovely car, same colour as mine, I'd lose the black Audi rings at the front and the mud flaps though!
cheers mate. I've never really thought about losing mud flaps. Be interesting to see without if only a couple of bolts to remove.
The black rings were a lot of debate. Chrome or black, black or chrome he he. I have both but like the black on at mo.
Where did you go for the remap? And did the dpf delete get done also?
I had a remap on my petrol last month. Smile is still on my face after doing it!
Nice car btw.
I went to a guy called Nic from tuned n styled in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. He had the mechanic do the DPF gut, and then had software delete of EGR with the Economy Remap. Same here, smile on my face when I'm driving, the difference is wicked. So impressed with results and on a diesel. It seems third gear is where I'm seeing it come alive although great difference throughout the gear range. Gonna enjoy this one for a few years but would love to test drive an S3 now and consider that next. Best get saving!!!

The little details make all the difference.

Loving the mods so far. How much were the wing mirrors and where did you get them, same question for the grill where and how much if you dont mind.

Cheers for the comments.
I got the wing mirror covers from this company on eBay. They are not genuine but excellent quality and perfect fit. You can buy cheaper but I love these https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/131621311204

The grill came from a company called xenonz, again great quality, rs3 replica. You can google the name and it'll come up

Subtle mod completed.
The lip on the front splitter and rear valence on the rear bumper is a grey colour on my black edition and it has bugged me, so i decided to go gloss black. Really pleased with the end result

I used Hycote paint. Its about £5 per can so £25 in total. I also painted the fog surrounds too. Patience is definitely the key to a good finish

I used:

2cans of Grey primer for plastics
2cans of Black gloss
1can of Lacquer

To prep
1. sanded down the plastic to get a key for the primer.
2. Wiped away dust and dirt with alcohol and lint free cloth
3. Applied masking tape - be patient and apply carefully as hard work now gives happy results on unmasking. Took me a couple of hours fiddling to get it right.

Painting
1. sprayed with primer. Slow even spraying. I allowed twenty minutes between coats and applied 3-4 coats
2. Wet sand paper last coat of primer when fully dry then wiped down. Ideally leave overnight
3. Applied black gloss paint. Slow even spraying with twenty minutes between coats. Applied 4 coats.
4. Allowed to fully dry.
5. Applied 3 coats of lacquer. This paint is heavier so lighter on the coats

Results
1. peel off and umask. Enjoy results

Ill see how it goes over next few months for chips and general wear

Where do these padded leather items come from?
Wish they came standard in the black edition.

Tiny little niggle but Its been a split decision for months !!! Ive finally ordered 'chrome' front grill rings that will delivered in next few days. i will have them fitted to the front grill to replace the black ones. The chrome will be a better, sharper contrast. Pics soon

Agree - without the rings its ... well kinda bland and will help focus the eye.

Hi Lee, I'm liking the car matey! I have just got myself a white blackedition 2.0 TDi. I really like the white fog lights, the link you provided for the "White Fog Halogen Xenon Bulb" are they a simple plug and play? Thanks in advance.

Hi, the caps are 69mm across the front face and 60mm across the rear clips. If you buy oem or reps off eBay they will give this measurement. Loads on eBay at moment

Cheers
