Hi guys. I'm on the lookout for a new set of wheels for my a3 1.8t. It currently has a set of standard 16" alloys on but am looking to upgrade. I will be fitting 45mm lowering springs if this helps with any advice given. Also, would like them to sit as flush as possible without arch rolling so what width/offset can I go for before it will start scraping. Cheers

I have 8j X 19" with 235/35/19 tyres on my s3, which were fitted to my old Mk4 GTI, which was on 45mm springs, there was no rubbing on that, can't remember what the offset is though.

i tried running 19s at first but felt like i was down on acceleration so went for 18s instead which i fell are better for the car

As above , efficiency and dynamics are lost with increased unsprung mass , 18" max .

Strange, as I believe with 35 profile as aposed to 40, the rolling radius is virtually the same.

mine on its 17 inch avus while i get my 18 inch ch repainted

Lower profile equals less flex, wider tyres equals better grip, plus big rims look good :)

Cheers guys. Found a set of rotiform snowflakes 16"x8j et30. What are people's thoughts on them? Do they suit the a3 8l?

Really? It's got 16's as standard so thought they would look fine.
