S3 grill on A3 - Pictures anyone?

Yeah it doesn't, you'll have a 1cm gap at the bottom of the grille :sadlike:

I bet you miss it though.

I miss the styling... That's about it. Hence why I changed back!

I don't miss an additional 300kg to throw around robbing me of acceleration and cornering speed, I don't miss Quattro (and all the bushes/components that come with it to worry about) and I love the fact I can do a gear box change in a morning if needs be :relaxed:

Also, people are far less suspecting of an A3 :tearsofjoy:

Everyone knows A3's are better :racer: (and by better I mean faster, which in my world is all that matters )

This thread is quite funny

It's been a while since we had a good fwd vs 4wd arguement :racer:

Probably because the 4wd brigade are too busy servicing their fake 4wd system and the FWD lot are out having fun

:sign hijacked:

Or having new front tyres fitted because they've burnt them away trying to get off the line and torque steering straight on in bends. :)

You do know transmission power loss through 4wd is almost TWICE that of fwd? . . :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
Maybe, no use having good power to the wheels if all that happens is they just spin all the power away, grip is where performance works.

That's fine most of the Audi Quattro's are front wheel drive due to some fault or other.

Audi is about quality and prestige and "Quattro" more so - if you wanted a fast front wheel drive of this construction - you would get the Seat Cupra R - they're much better than A3's

to be fair I have driven a lot harder in the rain in my S3 than any of my previous 2WD cars

Lets have a look at the evidence:

Me: Circa 300hp - Traction not an issue

@Prawn As mentioned, 370hp - No traction issues

Bill @badger5 A quoted "somewhere between 600 and 900hp" - You don't exactly see him struggling to get round a track :tearsofjoy:

@jojo remind me, how did your S3 track experience go?

(Sorry Jojo, couldn't resist... Too soon?)

The Leon is by far the heaviest of all the FWD mk4 platformed cars (even the mk4 golf is a good 50kg or so more than the A3), so bar the K04 engine out the box, not better than an A3 IMO... And all the bits that do make a Leon "better" will bolt straight onto an A3

I say chaps, didn't this start out as a question about a grill or something, I seem to remember? :)

Meeeh, when you enquire about 'S3' parts onto an A3.... Let the battle commence! :D

Probably just stick to the badge.

Seat extra weight is probably because its the only one with decent brakes, I think they have a leather interior too? - do they make a BAM version of the A3? (btw I really am light on technical facts - so take no notice :) )

I was looking at getting an A3 1.8T Sport instead of S3 originally because they are only about £800. but I noticed the S3 8L looked like it had different panels - rear wheel arches looked sportier - the A3 looked like someone in charge of the rear left work early on the sign off day for the design - so I looked to see if you could get stick on arches, to finish the designers job.

I say all the above - but cant even drive over a bump in my S3 without the driver door opening :D :D

Cupra r have cloth interior as standard, no A3 didn't come with bam engine, only S3, TT and cupra r, not sure about the Skoda's though.

No BAM's in Skoda's

or VW's

... I mean faster, which in my world is all that matters ...
