My S3 has done less than 4000 miles since new in Sept 2105. The DIS is displaying need for oil change in 25 days. I am Glasgow based but Ayr will suit me better for work reasons in the second half of August when I take it in.

Really just looking for impressions of servicing at Ayr Audi really. I obviously have the option of getting the car into Glasgow Audi a bit earlier if Ayr is not getting the thumbs up from others.

I'd want to spell out that the car is blemish free (apart from one chip on the front part of the roof  ) and isn't to be washed (its got Gtechnig coatings on body, wheels and interior and Xpel paint protection film).

Cheers

I put my A5 into Ayr Audi to get warranty work done, over a year ago, told me it would be ready in a day, charged me £15 for a courtesy car, hence why they're called Audi stealers!

Anyway, got a call to say I would need to leave the car with them a couple of more days as they had to order more parts................

Got the car back 4 days later, they hadn't washed it as requested, good stuff.

A week later, when I'm giving it it's weekly, I notice a small paint chip on the edge of the door, it had been badly touched up, I phone Ayr Audi straight away and explain about the paint chip, no joy over the phone, so get in the car and drive over. I speak to head bummer, who asks did you and a staff member go round the car when you dropped it off, no, silly me. As soon as I said no, I could see his face light up, I'm sure he knew all about it, he gives me the SHAGGY excuse " It wasn't me" and he wouldn't budge on that response. I know every inch of my car, and it wasn't there prior to dropping it off, bunch of liars!!!

I've been in since for parts and now call head bummer "Shaggy" by name, he doesn't like it, wonder why?

I think the car was in so long because they had to wait on the touch up paint to be delivered, not warranty parts.

So the short answer is, check every inch of your car with someone when you drop it off, and take dated pics of every panel of your car the morning your dropping it off. Put do not wash sign's on windscreen, and tell them when you hand in keys to put a do not wash note on your paperwork.

Or, use Glasgow Audi, but I'd give the same advise anytime for any dealer visits. I won't be caught out again by not checking the car over, lesson learned.

Hope this answers your question.

When I took mine in for the 1st service (@ Cheshire Oaks) I asked the young girl booking me in if she would mind walking around my car with me before I left. I felt a bit sorry for her TBH, I said that I'm paranoid about my alloys being damaged, so she squatted down to check them all carefully! Which wasn't easy for her, as she was in heels and wearing a rather short and tight skirt :) I was the perfect gent and held her hand whilst she was looking though ;)

I've not had a bad experience as such but I did notice that my partner was charged for more expensive tyres than what they put on her car!

Best to keep an eye on what's going on so elect to wait and watch like hawkeye from afar

I think on 2 separate occasions Glasgow Audi have photographed each wheel when I took it in for servicing.

Thanks all for replies - even those who drifted OT onto short skirts and young ladies crouching....!

Sounds like I might be as well getting it into Glasgow Audi - what say you Jassy (being the man almost on the inside LOL !) ?

lol, when I took my old car for it's 1st service I made a video on my phone walking around it, then got the guy to come out and check the alloys :) Sounds a bit ott, but at least if you go back and there's a big dent in the side or a scratched alloy you have proof it wasn't there when you dropped it off.

A for Audi in Clydebank will do a service for £90+ VAT
It's all logged onto the proper Audi system. Got mine done last week there. Don't know if they supply a car for you to use

Sounds good but they're not in the stealer network so Audi may knock back future goodwill gestures. Found that out to my cost with my 8P.

I use Hamilton although it's not been serviced there yet, but they've been great for warranty work.

I use Glasgow. Normally get in for 1st thing & wait. No problems at all, stipulate - DONT WASH.

Always a good service provided.

What's the stealer network, What kind of good will gestures?
I phoned Audi to confirm using A for Audi would not effect any warranty and the guy said they have all the right stuff to log it onto the Audi system and they actually recommend using them

I used Hamilton Audi excellent SixLargeBeers, Glasgow won't be any different mate although it's a busy place especially this month with the lead up to the new registration plate best get it down now or wait til after September 1st

Glasgow also offers overnight servicing, so drop it off in the evening and pick up the next morning. Not sure if any other dealers offer this at the moment.

Thanks for all the input guys. Will probably try to get it into Glasgow sooner rather than later.
Gordo - interesting about overnight servicing - I'll ask them about that.
