Just wondering if I could run with an Ngk, colder Spark plug,
in relation to my current engine mod,( DTUK Tuning Box)
GFB Dv,Turbo Delete, and soon to be installed Airtec Intercooler?
Thanks, Pete.

Yes you can, and possibly should. If a spark plug gets too hot it can lead to preignition - obviously more power = more heat. Remember to gap them accordingly. Maybe go for some NGK copper ones (replace them more often but are considered better) or some NGK Iridiums are just as good. Don't buy Denso's.

Great!
Just got hold of some Ngk BKR7EIX IRIDIUM - Gap at 0.8 mm?
( Brand new EBay 15 notes!)
Coil pack can stay the same.
Should definitely help with the extra Boost/Heat!
Thanks for the guidance.

Possibly 0.8mm, I'm not sure with this engine to be honest. I know for the S3's like I used to have (8L - 1.8T) it was 0.7mm for the same plugs you just bought if stage 1 mapped. Measure the gap on the plugs you take out vs. the plugs you've just bought. Match it to be safe - that's what I'd do! Or look on the S3 8V forum to see if there's some additional guidance on there as it's the same engine.

What's wrong with Denso Iridium ?

Probably nothing but I can only speak from NGK experiences myself - plus NGK are OEM.

S1Pete, what power are you running? And I've looking in to it and .8mm is OEM recommended gap so should be fine with the colder plugs.

Ok , got them in a non VAG running 17 psi of boost and haven't missed a beat .

Appreciate the guidance,
Pete.

I use Denso on my 2.0 A3 Stage 2 - swap them out every six months, which is probably overkill but when I first started buying them they were £45 now at around £27 ...
